I been searching for his reaction to what happened & I keep not finding anything...On Youtube. Maybe i'm looking in the wrong spot. I didn't see the fight live so I'm clueless if they even interviewed him in the ring...Could anyone point me in the right direction. Did they interview him in the ring?
Haven't heard a word from Whyte since Itauma destroyed him. Hope he's alright. Perhaps we should be seeking a proof of life?
https://www.skysports.com/boxing/ne...back-after-this-months-defeat-to-moses-itauma Whyte did say that he isn't planning on retiring, and says 'he will be back'. Screams a journeyman fight soon.
Whyte is 37 and has just been violently stopped in the first round by a comparative novice. Surely he can see the writing on the wall? He's made his money. He's not going to win any more titles. Why continue to risk his health? Makes no sense for him to continue but boxing doesn't run on sense.
I felt very bad for Danny Williams and Michael Sprott, the direction their careers head to in their later years was truly heart-breaking. That's why I'm ashamed to say that a part of me will greatly enjoy watching Whyte end up like them.
I did. My point is yeah, he did get violently stopped in the first round by a comparative novice, but that novice happens to be an exceptional talent.
I only saw that he said he's not retiring, haven't seem him give an interview or anything. And fair enough, he wants to end on a win and not go out like that after his career. He can win against a taxi driver and call it a day.
I think Whyte was done the minute the AJ fight fell through. I bet hes absolutely gutted Saudi money wasnt a thing when he was at his peak years fighting active. The type of fighter that would have appeared on most Saudi shows because he was game as anything and would fight anyone. I think deep down he knows its over, hes using whats left of his name value to try and get some of the saudi money. Unfortunately for him, he may have just cashed that ticket in now vs Itauma, hopefully he got paid well. Who knows, maybe Moses is just that good and Dillian has something left, i doubt it, he looked old and frail in that brief showing.
