What do you think, Allen withstood Makhmudov's punches quite well, who do you think is more resilient?
That's a tough one Hrgovic has never been dropped amateur or pro sans the bogus KD vs Big Bang and he had a much more extensive amateur career fighting at the highest level Allen has never been dropped albeit he was he was knocked out in sparring when he was a green 18 year old and weighing about 14 stone IIRC And Usyk knocked him out on his feet Hrgovic has fought (in the pros) Big Bang Dubois Adeleye Big Joe Joyce McKean Mansour Sparred among many others Wlad Haye The Dosser Dubois Fabio Allen has fought Mak Ortiz Whyte Price Yoka Clarke Fisher Webb Sparred among many others Wlad Usyk AJ Dubois Belly Chisora Bakole Big Joe Joyce Okolie But Hrgovic has fought tons of top amateurs and big punchers in the amateurs and WSB I've sent all this data down to the lab and I await the results
Hrgovic was out on his feet against Adeleye, kind of like what happened with Allen when sparring Usyk. Somehow Hrgovic stayed upright, woke back up mid barrage, and started defending himself. That was absolutely insane.
Zhang knocked Hrgovic down. But Zhang has never failed to knock an opponent down in the pros. Every single man who has fought him has hit the canvas. Zhang's power is absurd.
I wouldn't say he was out on his feet Adeleye just jumped on him after landing a couple of massive left hooks, one a bit earlier in the road, and cracked him with about 14 or 15 huge hooks in quick succession but somehow Hrgovic was still in control of his senses and had his legs underneath him when by rights he should've been out cold on his back. Allen in his own words was knocked out on his feet and he didn't remember anything that happened for the remainder of that spar. Usyk had to go easy on him but Allen was so badly hurt he could've finished him It really sounds like I'm trying to make a case for Hrgovic having the better chin than Allen but I'm not I'm genuinely not sure myself
Hard to say, they both have the best chins of the active HWs currently. Allen V Zhang would put this question to the test IMO, as Zhang has literally either knocked down or knocked out every opponent he has fought in the pros - including Hrgovic.
Not necessarily. Allen is a much worse boxer than Hrgovic so he would likely be taking more punishment.
Yes although Allen's style is a not a good one for Zhang in the long run, especially if Allen weathers the early storm. But I'd still expect Zhang to stop Allen soon enough.
Probably Hrgovic but he cuts easily. Maybe Allen would not need a good chin if he blocked a punch once in a while with his gloves and not his head.
Hrgovic definitely seems to cut a lot easier now after Dubois got away with headbutting him into oblivion.
