Some fighters have a real weakness in getting hit with the same punch over and over again. In this case the left hook. Muhammad Ali was obviously a prime example of someone who seems to have a knack for getting hit with the left hook constantly.

Who were some other fighters besides Ali who were always vulnerable in getting hit with a left hook?

Carl Williams is the most obvious example.

I think Ali's weaknesses to the left hooks is a bit exagerated. Ali faced more great left hookers than anyone. Liston was an ATG hooker. Frazier had a great left hook but could only knock Ali down once in in 40 something rounds. Cooper knocked him down in the first fight but failed to in the second fight.

Foreman had a great hook but couldn't do anything. Ditto with Shavers.

3 knockdowns vs left hookers considering he spent more time fighting great left hookers than anyone else is pretty amazing. 2 of those knockdowns came when he was a cocky young fella. Once he got mentally tougher and increased his concentration, starting with the first Liston fight, he was only dropped once with that shot.

Ali...He never learned the finer points of boxing...couldn't block a left hook...hands down way too low...no body punching...he used his reflexes to back away just in time. When he couldn't do that in the 1970's...and just laid on the ropes and became a punching bag. Look how he ended up. The worst shape of any heavyweight champion.

Ali blocked Frazier's left hook a lot better in his second fight than in his first.

He literally ate hooks like popcorn, in basically every fight he’s in, the telling blows by the opponents are left hooks. He was an incredible fighter and just throwing one at him obviously isn’t just gonna orbit to his chin but it’s the punch he was most vulnerable to, I think that and the right hook to the body. Liston is an “ATG Hooker” Is there anything he can’t do?

What was the punch in the OP again?

Most fighters who Joe Frazier faced had their “susceptibilities” to the left hook well and truly exposed.

And in Ali’s case several others chipped in for good measure…

I don't think Ali ever looked this bad vs left hooks

Let’s take the pre prime version - that always “works”, if nothing else.

Who exactly badly stunned or dropped Ali with the left hook otherwise?

Did someone happen to turn the trick during not so svelte Ali’s arduous training whilst in Exile - when the man didn’t miss a beat?

Y’all musta forgot or been fooled, I tell ya!
