    Carl Thompson was quite amazing.

Cameback from batterings against Akim Tafer, David Haye, Chris Eubank (x2), Terry Dunstan, Sebastiaan Rothman in terrific fights.

Was waiting for Fury to be mentioned. That he survived Wilder 1 was one of the most unreal moments I've ever had in boxing.

The others are very good mentions as well.

Good list. Trinidad seemed to get up stronger and really put the hurt on opponents after he was tagged.
Joe Louis doesn't get enough credit in this area. He was dangerous when hurt.
Mathew Saad was an Alien for awhile.

He was unusual to say the least. They say he would rather be surfing than fighting but whoever he touched fell down.
The Quartey fight was not normal either.

Fury's recovery vs Wilder is directly comparable to Holmes vs Shavers. It was incredible. He may as well have risen from the dead lol. Wilder put together some better punches than Shavers did after they had risen, but both recovered fast and were quickly back to business as usual.

Of course both have done it multiple times, as well.

Yes, I think there were many times when Ali was a lot more hurt than he let on.

His ability to hang tough and remain cool whilst in a haze often disguised how badly off he really was.

He had to be still badly hurt from that Shaver’s right hand in round 2 but his waving Earnie in shortly thereafter had Earnie second guessing himself.

    Incredible.

    Hi Guys.
Thinking for my gen, it would be Saad, and Lopez, the two most exciting fighters I have seen, it was almost compulsory for Danny to hit the canvas, where as Saad, took prolonged beatings, looked out on his feet, only to rally back to win, so he might be the poster boy for this topic.
    stay safe guys, chat soon.
    Mike.

I guess Joe Grim, who they called The Indian Rubber Man, deserves a mention. Though I seem to recollect that he didn’t fare too well mentally later in life. Sad.

    Yes.

And all that action was in two rounds. That's Hagler-Hearns level. I can't believe I didn't remember that fight. Calzaghe showed the balls of a champion.

I can barely remember him needing to recuperate in his prime. What a chin he had.

I'll add Gene Tunney to the names already mentioned. It wasn't easy to recover from the powerful blows with which Dempsey knocked him down in their second fight (this is despite the count starting a few seconds late, at the referee's 3 count, Tunney was already conscious and was looking at him, but he intelligently waited until the 9 count to get up).

Chavez was phenomenal, especial against Rosario but there was a mini-second he was hurt in 1st Mayweather fight.

Demolished him in the same round.
