Do you agree with that? Foreman's jab is the key, using it like a battering ram, keeping Tua stalled. As Lennox did. The smaller man struggled when he didn't get inside,he wouldn't be very successful here . And once he tastes Georges power,it may put him in to his shell.
Yep, Old Foreman locks him in his shell and throws away the key with his jab… 70s Foreman if he doesn’t use his, which he often didn’t gets ran over by Tua and DT doesn’t go nowhere he’d out-monster “Young” Foreman.
I think late 70s GF also used it pretty good, in his defeat to Young he showed some solid boxing. I believe Old GF also has an easier time with Lyle… boxing is funny.
Neither man is getting knocked out or stopped. A motivated Tua could out work Big George but the savvy, experience older Foreman could also subdue Tua with his battering ram of a jab. If both man are at their best, I can see George edging it by decision due to his experience but Tua outworking him for the nod wouldn't exactly be a shock either.
I don;t see comeback Foreman beating the Tua that fought ( and in my opinion deserve3d a draw) vs Ike but he might have decisioned some of the less motivated versions...
That's kinda how I see it, Tua would have been far too dangerous an opponent for an old George who though he took everything Holyfield could offer. I doubt he could stay upright if Tua left hooked him as cleanly.
Tua is one of the very few legitimately ranked contenders I can see 90s Foreman beating. That stiff jab is going to be on Tua's face all night long. Lol at Tua doing ANYTHING to 70s Foreman.
Old George struggled a lot against outboxers but Tua wasn't an outboxer really so this is interesting. Tua's style basically forces him to fight toe to toe. Tua had very good power and chin but Old George's power and chin was on another level, so I'd edge Old George to get the KO.
that jab was strong but slow. tua wasn't the fastest but he'd duck one and land something that foreman couldn't recover from.
Good post. Yes your right, the type that George had trouble with wasn't the same sort of style as Tua s. I think once Tua knows he's coming off worse close up, then he'll settle for a points decision loss.
