I mean, he might hit Pulev in the jaw so hard that he breaks his fist, on account of Pulev being too slow to roll with the punch or slip it. Honestly, I hope Pulev doesn't take it. Although, money talks, and I'd bet Hearn/Turki will make this happen.
It’s comical how desperately they are trying to push this dolt. I mean WHO exactly has he beat besides the shells of former contenders??? Put his ass in there with Zhang or Parker!
He'd blast out Zhang. Too fast for him. Parker though? That's too soon. Parker would absolutely derail Ituama. Parker is damn good. The third best HW.
I'm not sure he'd blast out Zhang yet, Zhang can be sneaky and deceptively quick with his right hand and we haven't seen how Itauma takes a punch yet. Plus all we've seen from Itauma so far is a exaggerated feints low followed by the left hand, and he uses his speed advantage to make the most of it. Zhang might not bite and then Itauma will have to take a risk to get in range.
If it comes off Pulev's manager, coach, just everyone associated with it should be ashamed. Pulev has no business getting there with anyone who's still got a pulse, and money be damned they're rolling the dice with the man's health down the line.
The alternative name for the WBA being “We Belt Anybody” is very amusing. Why even have a regular champion when you have a super champion???
They used to have a unified champion as well. Unfortunately boxrec yeeted the WBA, so Its difficult to find the names again, but at one point the WBA had 4 champion at featherweight: WBA Super champion - Chris John WBA regular champion - Jonathan Victor Barros WBA unified champion - This was Gamboa at the time, who also held the IBF belt. WBA interim champion - Irving Berry? I am not 100% sure, but I think it was him. Also, now they have the Gold champion in some divisions, whatever that means.
