Three Thrilla in Manila level wars with Holyfield did it. And Holyfield rolled an 18 for his constitution to not be a drooling pile of goo brain when you consider all the wars he's been in. If he'd ended up like Quarry did, I wouldn't have been surprised, yet if you're seen him lately, he's fine. Doesn't even sound punchy anymore. Just sounds a bit slow.
I suggest you watch it again lol. Won no more than 4 Rounds. Started great 1 & 2. Got figured out by the 5th. Another 15 seconds in the 7th and Chisora would have ben flat out stiff. Had a couple of rallys late especially the 9th or the 10th cant remember. Other than that it really wasnt close. A great effort from Chisora though he really made Usyk work hard, harder than i think Usyk thought he would have to work i think this was such a good learning fight for Usyk at Heavyweight dealing with the physicality of a real 18 stone heavyweight. Its very easy to get misled by what really happened in this fight due to Chisoras overperformance compared to the expectations beforehand. 117-111 more to what i had, the 2 115-113 cards were very very generous.
I’ve always thought this. His pressure and heavy hooks won him the fight, decent jab too. Usyk was on the backfoot for 12 rounds and got bullied badly.
"Chisora edged Usyk" If we suspend all normal boxing scoring and give points for walking forward and eating shots, Chisora won.
Again, you should probably rewatch the fight. Usyk landed more punches, and visibly staggered Chisora once, possibly twice. Also, the two rounds Chisora was landing those hooks, he was holding Usyk's arm and hitting. Ineffective aggression doesn't count.
I’ve watched it multiple times. Chisora had Usyk bouncing off the ropes running for dear life for the first 6 rounds.
