Canelo seems to only throw power shots with little to no jabbing.

Can you think of anyone else who fights like this?

Jones Jr, in his prime , didn't use the jab to set up
    his offense.
Wilder, pushed his jab, often open handed with it,
just to momentarily blind his opponents for
    his right hand power shots.
    Marciano generally did the same.

Jabbing is literally the only thing Wilder does beyond spamming right hands.

Wilder was actually using his jab a lot during the early stages of his title run.

He pushes the jab, often open handed with it, telegraphed it.
Great counter punchers from past era's would've had a
    field day against him.
Perhaps he should be in a bad jabber category lol.

Max Schmeling. He would only paw with his jab..trying to get a guy to react so he would counter.

Mike Tyson and Joe Frazier weren't notorious jabbers.

Roy Jones sprang to mind as someone who never particularly relied on the jab

Max Baer had a nice, “phantom” jab.

If I was a pro boxer, given reasonable self viability, I would prioritise learning and applying the jab via its myriad functions.

I would say that fighters who didn’t employ a good, consistent jab would’ve been likely far better fighters if they had done so.

Returning to the first case in point - how much better would Baer have been with a jab, especially aided and abetted by his sick, 82” reach?

The guy couldn’t have wanted more in terms of physical equipment but he banked himself mostly on the power right hand.

Duran mostly just pushed it out there a foot or so short of the target as a measuring stick. Also I think it was just part of his rhythm. But it wasn’t really often an effective punch for him.
