McCall got lucky against Lewis the first time. He had a terrible, terrible night the 2nd time.

But I agree that an on-form and focussed McCall is a handful.

Lennox won a much higher percentage of his rounds
Lennox knocked down his opponents more often which means he is harder to outpint
Lennoxs KO rate is 16 points higher than Usyks overall and in total fights the difference is greater.

Chisora is an EBU/Commonwealth double champion whose gotten multiple title shots he can't be a journeyman. In the early 2010s he was a great regional fighter who even had a case to be ranked. Might have been the best of Vitalis WBC title* opponents. Someone else like him would be viewed for what they are. The problem is hes in a 10 year cycle where he doesn't get punished for losing but gets rewarded for doing well against guys who are ranked high(who want to fight him) which keeps the cycle going. If a fighter keeps failing upwards they will lose. Chisora doesn't have 13 losses because he is so much worse then the guys with -5 its just he keeps getting farmed.

Honestly if you know the name of a boxer they probably aren't a journeyman. Journeymen are guys who don't win stuff whose record is near .500 or below .500.

 

I think yes he would go undefeated. He would starch Joshua, expose Tyson fury, Deontay MAY have a chance to land his big right but Lennox would still be favored in that fight. He knows how to be cautious by out finessing the puncher such as tua in his day. Anyway usyk would be a competitive scrap so don't count lewis aa unbeatable as perfectness lol. Usyk is a southpaw, with a high work rate, great stamina and nice footwork. Also zili zhang would get his chin check3d. All other comers can come añd try but Lennox (90% perhaps) would be the conqueror plus he did extremely well in rematches!

 

I'd favor him over everyone today, but he probably picks up a loss. That's what happens when you fight often and fight the best.
Undefeated fighters are mostly a result of careful match-making and outright ducking.

I know, I counted correctly. You didn't and had to revise it to 6 in Fury 1.

I give a fighter more credit for overcoming biased scoring than a fighter like Canelo, Mayweather or Ward who always or virtually always fought with home/A-side advantage and got decisions they would have lost as the B-side, or even with neutral judges. Lewis for instance was unable to overcome B-side status in the first Holyfield fight.

Even as the B-side in 3 of the 4 fights, Usyk averaged 7.25 rounds to Fury/Joshua's 4.75 and didn't suffer a single KD, while scoring one himself.

Had Usyk been judged neutrally vs Fury/Joshua, he'd have won by a margin of about 4 rounds per fight rather than 2.5.

Also, starting as the A-side potentially enables you to win with more conservative tactics. Usyk had to overextend to win rounds relative to what he'd have had to do as the A-side or neutral. A-sides also can foul more and are better protected from fouls/"fouls". It's a considerable advantage, or disadvantage to overcome.

If you lower the bar for what counts as a "quality win" for Wlad or Lewis then maybe. Otherwise Usyk's record is better, with many good wins and no losses or draws.

 

We all know he could get caught and upset, but nobody, not even Usyk, would get the better of him in a trilogy.

 

The big problem here is you are relying on the "judges were biased" as a key part of your argument like thats something solid. If this effect was real you'd have the strongest case for Usyk v Joshua 1 when Joshua was the champion and Usyk was coming up from CW. But Joshua got more favorable scoring the 2nd time as the challenger.

Also if this effect was real Lennox v Holyfield 1 wouldn't just be the most relevant example ever its only one fight. "The judges weren't biased because the other fighter was the A side/champion" works best for one fight and one set of judges. The more you try and stretch it the more silly it becomes.

Judges might have a systemic bias against point fighters but thats kind of built into the system. All point fighters have had to deal with that and if actually reinforces the point Usyk has a higher chance of losing.

He would’ve lost a few times for sure, probably against some opponents you wouldn’t expect. His boxing skills and CV are overrated.

 

Lewis only lost by KO. Who could ko him today? AJ, Parker, Wilder, Dubois and Zhang could possibly do so. Fury and Usyk could possibly win by decision.

So odds are he'd lose once or twice against that group.

Plenty of people could beat this sloppy fighter at least in upsets. He has traits similar to AJ. Anyone with power and enough speed or skill to land can KO lennox on any given night.
Here are some people who could do it in recent years.

Upset KO options:
AJ (not really an upset, he's basically similar level to the overrated lennox)
Wilder (pre Fury)
Zhang (up to around Joyce period)
Dubious

Outboxed options:
Fury and Usyk can outbox him and potentially TKO him.

Tough guys like Croatian might last enough to wear down lennox who didn't have a good engine.

 

If he fought EVERYONE in the division? Nope. Usyk hasn’t even fought everyone yet . No fighter can go through an entire division in any era without picking up a loss. Let’s see Usyk fight Parker, Kabayel, Wardley, Zhang, Itauma, Hrgovic, Bakole, Jalolov and see what happens.
