Do you agree with this statement?

Jim Jeffries, Jack Dempsey, Max Baer all "great" fighters...all get banged out by Derek Chisora.

    Future is now, old man.

Dont rate Derek that much at all

Haye a blown up Cruiser @210lbs stopped him early,Im sure Holyfield does the same

If Dempsey came in at his usual weight or gets some science inside him to weigh a bit heavier he still gets the job done doesnt he or am i wearing rose tinted specs

Christ no, as you say, he got flatlined by a cruiserweight who wasn't even a good heavyweight, a decent gatekeeper probably, but I'd fancy him to lose to all 3 of them, especially Dempsey, that'd be a massacre.

Dempsey's speed alone would be too much for Chisora. Derek's a decent gatekeeper level but he doesn't have the tools or conditioning to keep off any of those mentioned. All three have the power to take him out quickly.

But the weight advantage? Says he weighed 241lbs vs Klit in 2012 and 247lbs vs Haye

Went the distance but 40 yr old Klit tore a ligament in the 3rd and beat him with one arm

Bit of useless information for you

I had a look to see how many title fights ended in a stoppage win after 10 rounds had been completed

If you look at film of Dempsey-Tunney II and think that Chisora would dominate those fighters, more power to you.

If they tried to slug it out with Chisora I think it's possible that he mops them up. Chisora is literally good at only one thing, and that is being large, chunky and obnoxious right in front of you and trading blow for blow. Dempsey would outbox him, but could somebody convince JD to go for the points instead of the kill?

I disagree ... size and styles are everything ... Watch Vitai against Chisora ... he was exhausted and hanging on at the end .. Usyk says he gave him he hardest fight of his career .. He never went dow. vs Vitali, Fury, Usky
Chirosa is a beast ... very strong but with more determination than a Mercer ... he gave Vitali hell, gave Usky hell and shows up ... Dempsey at 190 would be too small .. if he was pumped up to 215 with his speed and power he had a real shot .. I love Max Baer as a character but he is absolutely painful to watch .. Jeffries who the hell knows as there is basically zero to go on ..

I’m confident he beats Baer but Dempsey thrashes him. Jeffries is too much of an unknown for me to predict this and Dempsey, unlike Jeffries, beat fighters of similar size to Chisora.

    No I emphatically don't.

Chisora is tough as nails but he found his level, and lost all the most important fights of his career.

I get it that he was probably better than his record suggests, but even so.

He most probably loses to all these men.

He plucks Tunney, if Gene even bother to show up. Too much man. Too much Black.

If you tell Tunney that it is a straight up choice between fighting a black man, and never fighting for the title, I have a feeling that he would gain a new set of principles.

Give Tunney a few Saudi cheques and he'd be a civil rights activist

Could be all over in seconds if Jack is as careless as he was vs Firpo in the opening seconds but i could include every single heavyweight thats laced them up with a chance now

Del loves just boring in with his head down himself and Jack for his weight had tremendous strength himself while working on the inside,He loved the left uppercuts to body & head,Chisora has the weight but nothing much else here.As you say Del would be right in front of him,Can see his head swivelled and heart hit a few times before he grabs hold

Immediately coming out of the clinch or after the ref calls break Dempsey was extremely fast and vicious landing with left hooks,He let Willard off the hook a few times but looks like the beginning of the end for Firpo in the 2nd round once he landed in that scenario and i dont think Del has got the speed in any department to react to these.Even the zombie version of Dempsey showed flashes of magic in the second Tunney fight with the overhand counter right that began the knockdown,Ive seen the zombie version of Chisora get wheeled out for years and the Gerald Washington fight is one of the worse ive ever seen

Haye might have been the fastest guy he fought too and that ended abruptly,I'll have to watch that one again,I think Dempsey was speedier along with being a more vicious accurate puncher than David and even with the weight disadvantage i think Jack can KO him

On whether JD could go for the points victory,There is a couple of frames of footage in that Smithsonian colour video where Dempsey is seen boxing from the outside vs who i think is Brennan ive never seen elsewhere,I might be clutching at straws but i think it looked cool anyway! Might bump a Brennan thread to see if it can be verified
