This....The very best Lewis is far to savvy, powerful and technically gifted to ever allow Wilder to get a foothold and as courageous as Wilder is, there's no way his chin holds against Lewis's heavy artillery. Let's not forget aswell that Lewis took bombs off Briggs, Holfield, Mercer, Bruno, Vlt Klit, all who could seriously crack so his chin is far from questionable, he just switched off on the odd occasion. I doubt very much he would do that against Wilder

 

Big Len could beat them all. He could also lose to them all. But. I'd have my money on him sparking Wilder and AJ, outpointing Fury, sparking Dubois, stopping Zhang...and Usyk...and maybe surprisingly having his toughest night but still comfortably outpointing Big Joe Parker. Styles make fights. I think Usyk is made for Lewis...

Lewis dominated Tyson and knocked him out. I guess you think he could have done it more quickly? Tyson had a damn good chin.

 

Lewis is a lot more likely to survive some flush power shots from Wlad than the other way around. Lewis DID survive wars with good punchers.

 

LL 's worst enemy was complacency. So I think he'd be fired up to beat the big names of the era (and I think he would - the only one I'm less certain of is usyk). But it wouldn't necessarily be a shock if he took his foot off the gas against a 'lower level ' guy, lost, and had to correct it in a rematch.

He probably “should”, but he lost to people he shouldn’t have in his hey day… So no, factor in generational talents like Usyk, and Fury, and huge punchers like AJ, DuBois, and Zhang, he’s bound to have a “hiccup” somewhere.

 

Theres been better fighters this era than McCall and Rahman, so if he fought regularly he would likely lose at least once.

Having said that I would favor him over all of them.

 

Joshua got more favourable scoring the 2nd time because he did better in fight 2. He was the challenger but still the A-side, he was also theoretically the challenger against Charles Martin. A-side doesn't equal champion.

While not easily measurable, A-side bias absolutely exists. Some fighters are consistent A-sides in their big fights, others mixed or even B-sides. Compare how many rounds hardcore boxing fans give to Canelo on average vs how many the Vegas/judges give him in a fight he seriously risks failing to win. He is notorious for being given 2-3 rounds more than he should have got, or would have got had he not been a billion dollar fighter.

Most boxing fans are aware of the systemic corruption in the sport and we should hold fighters who overcome it consistently in higher regard than its beneficiaries because what they are doing is much harder.

Joshua got 1 round on average more than he deserved according to fan consensus in both fights. Chisora got 1-2 more. Fury got 1-2 more in fight 1. If you're consistently fighting on the road, and as the B-side against two of the three biggest cash cows in the sport, or are considered a threat to one of them and thus a priority to be eliminated from contention, you're going to face significant political bias. Eastern European fighters have consistently faced this in American and Britain.

Judges don't have a systemic bias against point fighters when their names are "Canelo", "Mayweather" or "Ward". They have a systemic bias in favour of the cash cow or hometown favourite.

What makes Usyk harder to beat than KO artists like Wlad and Lewis is 1. superior chin 2. superior engine 3. superior skill, particularly defence. The KO artists were easier to KO themselves due to these flaws and weren't optimised for pointfighting if they failed to score KD's, or didn't have A-side advantage enabling them to foul.

 

You left out Ruiz. He'd take one look at a picture of him, and decide he'd only need a 1 week training camp.

I think Wlad can keep his discipline over 12, but the devil in Lennie would be his undoing. Lewis had that little bit of a wild streak that lots dont notice and I think this propensity to brawl, even for moments, is his undoing versus Wlad. Lewis could knock Wlad cold, no argument, but I dont think he would. Wlad keeps his discipline and busts Lewis up, stopping him late for me.

 

Judging by Lewis actual career, he's most likely to lose to those he underestimates.

He'd come in very prepared for Wlad, he'd probably be very prepared for Fury and an AJ. Someone like Ruiz could catch him with his deceptively fast hands.

 

History says ,,and with clear emphasis , that someone will probably tag an unfocused Lewis and stop him . He had that problem

 

Usyk would beat him for sure, Lewis is not that level, I wouldn't rule out that Dubois would beat him either...
