December fifth at York Hall. Ten rounds scheduled at heavyweight.

Hunter had previously been in talks for a December date with Moses Itauma. Instead he'll be facing another undefeated British based boxer in the Polish born Frankham. While the fight poster claims an 8-0 record for him, BoxRec lists 3-0 as Frankham's current pro mark.

Hunter has taken the most bizarre career choices I've ever seen.

Even now shot that he is he could have had decent fights because he still has a name and a ranking. Instead he fights a guy who must be well outside the top 500 for probably pocket money.

    Just very odd.

I find it a bit weird Pulev and Hunter announced fights just days after Itaumas team approached then

I've never even heard of Frankham

He turned pro in 2013, fought two 4 rounders in B2B months, then disappeared for 7 years before resurfacing for another 4 rounder in 2020 and hasn't fought since

Am I missing something here? Surely I must be

What a sad waste of talent Hunter is

Here is the Bounty Hunter's most recent bout, in IBA Pro ten months ago, against Artem Suslenkov:

...and here is "Fat Boy" Frankham's (yes that's his actual nickname, I didn't make it up) most "recent" bout, against Artsiom Charniakevich in 2020:

I find it weird that Don King won the purse bid for a WBA title fight between Pulev and Hunter.

The WBA ordered the purse bid. King put up $1.1 million. He had the money. He had to put it up to win the bid.

King stepped up with more money than any other promoter wanted to fork over. The title shot was Hunter's.

And there was a little more than a million in cash to share between the two of them.

Instead, Hunter's team said they wanted to fight the WBA's #6 rated Big Baby Miller instead of the WBA Regular Champ Pulev.

King, who won the bid, called his lawyer, saying he won the bid to stage the title fight.

It was originally going to take place in September. But Hunter's team fighting it pushed the date back to October, about two weeks past. With Hunter simply refusing, the WBA dropped the fight. King got to keep his money.

Now, Hunter is fighting nobody for nothing.

I know all the stories that have been repeated ad nauseum about Don King.

But, honestly, Hunter is a complete screw up.

    Has been for years.

Even with a title shot in his lap, the money guaranteed, he thinks the grass is greener on the other side.

A 37-year-old who has passed up one eliminator after another, one title opportunity after another, to instead take part in yet another meaningless, forgettable fight.

Turki isn't writing $100 million checks to every slob in his late 30s. A six-figure payday is still a six-figure payday.

Hunter is done, he got beat up by Forrest and Suslenkov and now knows he's outside of the top 30 for sure, but even then he's been making strange moves

If he loses to a 3-0 guy, who's coming off a five year layoff since his only bout in the last twelve years ...Hunter pretty much has to retire, right?

Even if Hunter scraped past this dude, BoxRec would still place him 10th. Absolute s**tshow from all parties.

Rules out Hunter for Itauma I'd guess.

In all fairness, Don King sued him out of him fight with Miller.

But it would have fallen through anyway.

Dude should just go to Brigder.

Hunter's career really pisses me off...........................so much ability to be more than what he was (I say was because let's be honest, his career is over). Mike was never going to be world champion (not in a realm that Usyk rules/we know he can't beat him), but it's definitely possible that he could've picked up a belt. It's almost like he ran from destiny..............

I think the only person who's career has pissed me off more is Chad Dawson.

My best mate is childhood friends with Frankham , they boxed together as juniors.

He did a bit of time, and has been boxing on the BIBA circuit hence the 8-0 record. His last bout was this year actually which my mate went to.
