I’d also like to see Wilfredo Gomez vs Nicky Perez.

Nicky was like 39-1 at this time and usually a good boxer who was very durable at 122 and 126 before moving up too high in weight later in his career.

Bazooka stopped him in five but I’ve never seen it.

A couple of title fights that evidently no film exists of?
Greg Haugen in that strange IBF defense against Miguel Santana where Pazienze has to straighten the refs out about the rules so Haugen kept the title is one.

Jimmy Paul against Darryl Tyson in what was said to be a fast paced chess match for the same IBF title that Paul lost to Haugen.

Yes to SaintPat's suggestion for anything Edgar Mad Dog Ross, especially the Chiaverini title eliminator fight.

I'll add any fight of Chicago heavyweight Walter Moore, especially the Roy Tiger Williams loss by KO.

Is Gato Gonzales kayoing Vilomar Fernendez out there? Magazines talked about it big time, but never have seen a clip even of it.

According to Mitchums biography Mitchum Jack Palance and Robert Ryan were the 3 Legit Hollywood tough's. Ryan boxed amateur while Mitch & Palance were pro's. Outstanding book by the way on Mitchum i highly recommend it.

Just a couple of short newspaper snippets re the altercation.

Mitchum certainly wasn’t observing the rules MOQ. Lol.

Sounds excellent. I might just try to grab that book. I like a good bio. Thanks.

Here’s a good article on Mitchum from The Saturday Evening Post if you’re interested: -

Buster Mathis vs Jerry Quarry is got to be the biggest newest fight that no film exists of. An MSG fight in 1969 with no film saved?! Amazing. It was a huge upset win for Quarry after his disappointing loss in the WBA tournament final for the championship to Jimmy Ellis. He was 12 to 5 underdog and still remember on my way to the bus stopping to buy the ny daily news with my friend and we were joyously shocked to find Quarry had won a lopsided victory.

    Good thread idea.

I’d actually like to see Juan Estrada v Carlos Cuadras 2 on YouTube in a full version. Haven’t found one yet.

    Rafael Herrera-Rodolfo Martinez for sure.

Some glorious day Louis-Conn will appear in full - I keep believing…

Been wanting to watch Oba Carr vs Livingstone Bramble but it seems hard to find now. I recall that being a good one.

That’s a good one. I’ve read claims that Cobb tanked it. I think those claims were borne more out of disbelief - like, “Who could possibly KO Tex Cobb?”

Broader readings suggest it was legit, including Tex pleading to the ref not to stop it… and, IIRC, in Tex’s fight just prior (or near enough to) he was KD’d for the first time - I’ve seen that KD and it was 100% legit.

Even a granite chin can only take so much (see Joe Joyce)…and of course there were the substance addictions in Randy’s particular case also.
