Trinidad by tko after he gets knocked down earlier. At Junior Middleweight. At Middleweight, maybe Mugabi, Trinidad was not a natural Middleweight anyways.

Yes, I agree. Tito was great but Middleweight a dangerous step up against someone like Mugabi.

Tito's the far better, more reliable fighter. Early doors would be dangerous for him, Mugabi hits hard and is an energetic finisher. A quick look however tells us that Tito was never stopped early. In fact the only time he was ever stopped was by ATG middleweight Hopkins in the 12th.

Tito TKO, anywhere from 3-10 depending.

    I don't know, I think I'll take a pre-Hagler Mugabi

Mugabi never actually beat a fighter near as good as Trinidad, which is one part of my Mugabi criticisms. Trinidad has definitely beaten better fighters than Mugabi.

Love Trinidad, but he was knocked down or seriously hurt many times, even at his best weight
    welterweight.
Mugabi was a much better puncher than Compas, Carr, Mayorga, Vargas, or even Hopkins
at middleweight, some of the boxers who dropped him.
This would be a very dangerous fight for Trinidad vs Mugabi pre-Hagler.
Mugabi was a ferocious puncher at Jr.Middleweight, and as he proved
against Hagler tough as nails, and better skilled than some give him
    credit for.
This fight would be a barn burner, for as long as it last.
Though Trinidad was better skilled, I believe this would
come down to a war of attrition.
I wouldn't bet the mortgage on it, but Mugabi pre Hagler
would eventually catch Trinidad and stop him.

It is a dangerous fight. Trinidad got knocked down several times. I don't think he was that hurt though. They were the flash type with the exception of the Stephen's fight all of them were early rounds.
I think Trinidad seemed to recover better than most fighters i can recall. Part of that was he was always in outstanding condition.
It would be a fun fight to watch. The nite Mugabi fought for the title he was committed to bring home the title. He made Hagler beat the fight out of him. I dont think John was even the same after that nite.

Trinidad was too sharp of a puncher and stops Mugabi.

It’s hard to know how good Mugabi could have been had he not fought Hagler. Maybe he left his best in the ring that night and never recovered - it would seem so, or maybe Hagler’s ring rust and age made Mugabi look better than he was.

Either way, Trinidad had a way better career and was fundamentally a better fighter. He was also resilient and had a championship heart. I take Tito in 7 after the customary early rounds KD.
