Michael Moorer vs Ingemar Johansson

I’d probably favor Moorer but not a given . Fun right with a lot of big shots exchanged

 

Michael was such a more multi-faceted boxer and pounded at least as hard as Igno.

 

Interesting fight. Two heavyweight champions that were much maligned.

Moorer was really good with his southpaw stance, strong hand forward. Who else did Ingo beat, outside of Patterson?

Moorer by a shade.

 

he did hand Eddie Machen his first loss and when he was the # 2 contender

 

I have trouble imaging that Ingo wouldn't land a right hand that might require Moorer to leave on a stretcher.

 

Moorer destroys Johansson

 

I'm not actually sure TBH.

Moorer is bigger and more talented but he had a bit of shaky chin at Heavyweight and Johansson has a KO power straight right hand which is the southpaw killer.

 

Moorer stops him at some point, Johansson has a puncher’s chance, but he would appear outmatched in most departments unless he can land the big right hand.

Moorer has the better jab, is quicker, was bigger by the time he was a heavyweight, has better technique especially in combination.

 

Moorer could be beating the snot out of Ingo, then get caught by a right hand that puts him silly.
