I'd love to a see short youtube doco on one of these boxers who are 0-49 or 1-99. It'd be pretty interesting to see their mindset, how they train etc.

Danny stumbling forward right into straight lefts, then grabbing and holding. Lots of frantic movement from Danny, but it feels nervous exhausting and wasted energy. Meanwhile Royston is cool as a cucumber. Ref warns Danny for using his shoulder.

His corner forget to hand Pollard the envelope prior to their first fight or something?

I found a written interview with Pollard where he tries to play it straight, as though he just can't seem to get a win. Hahaha. Come on buddy. We know the deal. You get so many fights because you know exactly what you're being paid to do and you do it.

So many of these domestic level British fighters of all weight classes have real low KO percentages. I see so many of them every weekend.

Royston's jabs are getting heavier and heavier, Danny is skittish, his aggression level is falling off. Ref warns Royston for holding. Danny leaps into a clean left. Danny eating jabs and lefts sporadically, any time he tries to close the gap.

Marcus McDonnell screaming "stop boxing" like the world is about to end is quite amusing.

Quartermaine has probably more than earned himself a point off by now. Barney-Smith is doing some holding, but what else can you do when a guy is superman jumping into your arms?

Danny getting desperate, flailing forward lunging in with his head, ref warns him for using it, his last one. Check right hook from Royston. Danny not even trying to punch now, just coming in with his head and looking to hold. Now walking into uppercuts. Stinging straight left from RBS and another. Ref finally docks him a point late.

There are a few interviews with some of such British lads.
For one guy it was a second job. He had his main job and trained 2/3 times a week in the gym to keep himself ready for fights.
All of his fights were short notice, but he was always preparing for them. In the ring he never really gave it his best, but he did not show up exactly to loose. He basically treated the fights like sparring, but at the same time he did not hold back too much, which meant the rare W here and there.

The thing with a lot of these guys is that they can cash in big on last minute cancellations. If they show up, give a good fight, and are always ready to fight then they are paid rather well.
Most of them make at least 1k a fight, which might not seem a lot at first glance, but fighting so often adds up.

My countryman Artjom Spartar fought on this card, and now his record is 5(1)-18(4). I have seen him in the gym, and he is a bit better than shown in a lot of his fights I have seen. The thing with Spartar is that he lives in Narva, a city where life is rather cheap in relative terms, but at the same time there are not that many good options for well paying jobs. He has fought 8x this year now, and if he is making 1k per fight then it is roughly 50% of the median wage in his area. I am fairly certain that he has made more than 1k in some of this fights this year, and if he is also working full time then he is earning himself quite a good living. And the dude is only 21.
