Yeah, I get that. I don’t mind a bit of UFC either, and BKFC can be fun in small doses — it’s got that raw, old-school edge. But when boxing delivers fights like that, it still hits different. Fabio’s finish reminded everyone why we put up with the bad cards in between.

The 10th round was the one that changed the fight. With just over 40 seconds left, Parker nails Wardley and decides to unload — when he basically had the fight in the bag at that point if he’d just stayed disciplined. Wardley absorbs the bombs, then calls Parker on and lures him into an exchange, catching and hurting him badly right before the bell.

That was the fight right there. He broke Parker’s heart, cut him in the 11th, and irrespective of Foster jumping in ala Froch–Groves, I don’t think Parker was making it to the final bell. Fabio’s got that warrior code — you either have it or you don’t, same way Froch came back against Groves and Taylor before that.

Also pleased for Mitchell Smith too.

I don’t think he would have been stopped. Wardley looked like he was gassing and Parker had his senses about him.

Yeah, me too. Like when Lerena got stopped against Dubois
Oh wait, that was also Foster
    On another Warren card
    One fight out from Usyk

    Hmm, there might be pattern

Reality is, Parker takes a knee, he likely wins the fight. BUT DESTINY INTERVENED

That's something fighters don't seem to do now.

Really enjoyed the main event. The stoppage was a fraction early for me but Parker had come in too heavy and his tank emptied badly in the 10th and ultimately the 11th. Congratulations to Fabio and Rob, what a story.

Fantastic main event. Strong argument for the best HW fight of this era imo.

We have seen worse but that was a bad stoppage in a clutch moment of the fight. Parker is right to feel aggrieved by that.

Magical performance by Fabio. I do wonder whether he can carry on a performance like that or if this was his Buster Douglas moment.

Surprised me too. Tried to make a statement and backfired.

what planet are you on? He couldn’t recover after one minute after taking less of a beating in the preceding round, yet you think he could recover after ten seconds of knee after taking a cumulative battering. There was also another round. He was absolutely gone.

Watched the highlights on YouTube again just now. The stoppage looks worse each time you see it.

Parker was gassing badly during this fight and he looked to be feeling the pace from the end of round 3.

The Huni fight was a great learning fight for Wardley as he got a boxing lesson that night from a far superior boxer to Parker and found a way to get him out of there.

Those two wins for Wardley are the best two wins for a British Heavyweight underdog in the ring since Fury beat Klitschko and Wilder.

That is now seen as cowardice due to Daniel 'The Knee' Dubois with all the stick that followed.

Now watch as Frank somehow cocks up the Usyk negotiations and feeds Wardley to DDD or Itauma.

Not going to lie, I'd watch either of those fights but if boxing has any "winner stays on" integrity Wardley deserves a title shot. In a non-undisputed era he'd probably have had a crack at the WBO by now.
