No surprises here — Whyte and Chisora about to fleece the public harder than Rachel Reeves’ budget next month.

I think even Whyte’s most ardent supporter, @Aydamn, will be shaking his head at this one. Meanwhile, Shalom’s running on BBC fumes and these two could probably fund a small nation between them — and likely put a dent in the UK trade deficit while they’re at it.

Edit: I actually believe Chisora stops Whyte inside three rounds this time — unless Whyte was carrying an injury going into the Moses fight, then maybe he gets to halfway.

That's the biggest problem right now. Ordinary boxers (around British title level) believe they are entitled to a share of the Saudi money.

I fully understand that boxers should be paid well because they put their lives on the line but there are many who needs a reality check. They demand far too much money compared to what they actually offer.

Exactly mate. Fighters got extortionate money to fight on Saudi undercards and now won’t fight for any less. Good example is Josh Kelly turning down Boots (was probably for the best lol) because it didn’t match his purse from when he was supposed to fight Liam Smith on a Riyadh season undercard. The money he was offered was way more than anything he’d earned up until that previous fight.

    Terrible fight.

All the credit / goodwill that Frank Warren has built up over the years he is about to lose by arranging this fight.

A few years ago I remember how people from Queensberry Promotions regularly told me how sad it was that Eddie Hearn didn't care about Derek Chisora's health and only thought about making money. Do the same people still hold that view today or have they changed their minds ?

Boxing has nothing to do with sports.

    Boxing is a business.

Without fans buying tickets, subscriptions to sports channels and Box Office events - there is no business.

It just feels like promoters are stuck with the inflated UK pay days of the Matchroom/Sky era and PPV is the only way to make those work.

The thing is, because of that heyday they've still got the name value and Warren might just get away with it. Nobody's going to pay 25 quid to watch any of the up-and-coming boxers in 4-5 years so they'd better lower their expectations. Maybe they'll fight more often or duck less.

I didn’t watch the show last night. Was it formally announced it’s Chisora vs Whyte and was there any mention if Itauma is on the same show?

The problem now is out of sight out of mind.

In the pub today and nobody had watched the boxing last night or heard of Wardley.

The popularity of boxing is fading fast.

Not announced yet. Itauma is back in February apparently and Warren said he wants to take him to America in 2026.

Same with a fella at work today. He used to watch all the boxing on Sky but didn’t even know Parker v Wardley was on.

He'd be better known - but far less well paid - if he'd stayed with Boxxer and ended up on BBC2.

Frazer Clarke will be splattered all over the BBC soon. Just like when he fought Wardley!
