Because he's a real fighting man. He knows wrestling and judo in addition to his boxing and is not afraid to fight men with 50 lbs on him.

It's fitting he's in the new MMA film The Smashing Machine with the Rock, as he'd have fit in with that era of MMA fighters who fought with no weight classes.

Id take him to beat Jake in boxing and MMA.

Interesting, I wonder how it will score compared to the humans. Looking at the AI punch stats which flashed up on screen during the fights last night I don't have a whole lot of hope for it.

I worry that AI will cause fighters to fight to the defined AI requirements as opposed to their more natural styles, like a more extreme version of amateur boxing. Where there will be a successful "meta" that boxers follow that will change with each update of the AI judge.

 

It's a gimmick but in all honesty I can see a time very soon where AI judges do become more accurate than the human ones.

 

This is good point. Though I will counter that if fighters can pay attention to AI metas they can already have an understanding of what sort of fights human judges(who have resumes and reputations) like as well.

I'm not sure if this is the case or not but does a fighter see a set of 3 judges and think a certain sort of fight will give them the best chance to sway 2 of them? Maybe with 1 AI that sort of thinking is more viable.

AI or human having 1 individual entity making the decisions would increase the chance of draws or the "wrong outcome". You need 3 but with Ai how would you make 3? Would you have 3 different softwares pretend to be people?

 

Stay with people, although they generally favor the A side to much and the wrong call happens now and then AI isn't the answer, I'd actually go to 5 judges myself.

 

Anytime I have seen an unofficial AI judge they have been way off.
