I think he could. If he shows up motivated, i think Sanchez's counter punching style is perfect for frustrating Wardley.

They are both wrong for each other; Sanchez is too passive and too methodical, this will give Wardley ample time and room to work with what he has.

Wardley probably starts favourite but it wouldn't be a foregone conclusion.

Remember Itauma's camp chose to make Sanchez a miss.

Sanchez isn't some mythical A tier boogeyman... He's a bang average low end gatekeeper, with too much hype for too little proven.

My suspicion is he's expecting too much money or too many favourable clauses for how little he brings - when so many fights appear to be available but don't get made, it strongly suggests that he's not feared but rather not easy to come to terms with.

Wardley looks like he's at least fringe contender material - he damn well ought to be a strong favourite even with a stylistic disadvantage... And actually, I'm not convinced Sanchez is good enough to deal with that kind of volume.

Sanchez is one of the many HWs who is far too inactive and is stagnating. Since Kabayel beat him up 1 and a half years ago he's only fought some guy outside the top 600.

A hungry active Wardley ko's him mid rounds.

    Yes.

Anyone in the top 20 should be favored over Wardley except maybe Zhang.

A healthy and peak Frank Sanchez could beat anyone including Fabio Wardley.

It should be mentioned that Sanchez wasn’t healthy and peak vs Kabayel, he had a knee injury.

Nope, Wardley is active and on a run. He’s a steam train running at full speed, Sanchez has no momentum and would get stopped. Mentality, confidence and activity is a massive edge.

Sanchez is too soft to offer any resistance, Wardley would beat him up in the early rounds and ultimately knock him out...

Wardley proved he was the real deal against Parker, he'd stop Sanchez in 6.

I’d pick Wardley currently based on form and activity. Sanchez at his best, with form, and with his movement would be able to out point Wardley. Wardley isn’t as well schooled as Kabayel and can’t close the ring off as well. Sanchez’s movement would frustrate Wardley and he wouldn’t be able to get set to throw.

Even Sanchez at his best, Wardley has a real punchers’ chance.
