You're flying high, Billy. A big win for Martin Bakole and that will be a fantastic end to your year. Is there any news about big Martin Bakole dropping soon?

As mentioned, it is so hard to answer, as there are so many variables. McGuigan is obviously a very good trainer. But handpicks who he trains. Generally, only top amateurs or established quality fighters. Paul Stevenson, Billy Nelson and Dominic Ingle (when he trains fighters) take on unknowns from a young age and help to create a fighter. Billy had a tremendous education doing that when he assisted Peter Harrison back in the day. Billy also tactically outsmarted a clever Andy Lee in helping Crocker win the World Title. I have always really rated Rob McCracken. But be is obviously working with elite amateurs he has taken pro.

Not forgetting he trained Freddie Flintoff who has a 100% winning record at Heavyweight.

McCracken's reputation dipped a bit with the AJ-Usyk aftermath and the whole "brilliant AJ" nonsense, which wasn't even McCracken in the first place. Still a fine trainer and even if he picks the best amateurs to work with, they have to pick him too.

Not mad on McGuigan in a lot of ways but you can’t argue he has a great track record of improving his fighters

Like him or loathe him, the facts don’t lie — Boxercise Ben’s training the two most exciting heavyweights in the world, and arguably the top domestic prospect in Royston. He’s also got Joshua in camp.

And, of course, lest we forget the path he paved with his legendary work with… Tom Little.

I know he's a bit marmite, but think he's done more than enough to see that boxercise label binned.

I've not seen the Wardle fight yet but it sounds like Ben's won the tactical battle with Andy Lee, unless Parker decided to ignore his trainer? Either way, Davison is adding to a good record, especially for his age/experience.

I don’t mind Davison but he seems stuck when a fight isn’t going his fighters way. He says the same thing to each of his fighters if they’re losing, “feints and fluidity”.

His record is a bit padded in that 2 of his fighters (Wardley and Wood) carry big KO power late and have come from behind with one punch a fair few times after getting outboxed the whole fight.

Yeah, fair shout. I actually think he got treated poorly by Fury, but that whole episode ended up being the platform for everything that followed. Having Freddie there for Wilder 1 definitely helped too — stopped him from throwing in the towel early when he looked close to doing it.

I still rate McGuigan above him, though — especially after Shane basically deconstructed the advice being given to Joshua between rounds and called it perfectly that Dubois would counter him if he came up with shots.

Still, Davison’s come a long way since the Tom Little days and working the pads with Saunders. Although there’s more chance of him landing his own L’Oréal deal than resurrecting Joshua’s career — he’s more “Because He’s Worth It Ben” these days.

Did Roach not say he disagreed with the Davison tactics in hindsight, and Fury should have gone on the front foot a lot more? I know that's where Fury ended up with Steward but you wonder if Roach put it in his head.

Can never deny Davison got Fury fit for 12 hard rounds though and that was a miracle at the time.

Also enjoy how almost nobody avoids calling him "Davidson".
