Nah, he could have been way better than he has recently show, and still can be. The problem with Bakole is his lack of dedication. Heck, even an obese Bakole still easily beat the crap out of Yoka, Takam, and Anderson. Saying he is a "complete hype job" is too harsh. Hes the man who beats up hypejobs.
A fit and focused Bakole beats Parker, but that version of him wont exist on 6 months notice at this stage of his career. He turned up as fat as my 600lb life for the first fight, that was embarrassing.
You can still be a hype job yourself if you beat another hype job. Seriously Bakole was so overrated at one point in this forum.
If Parker fights as dumb as he did against Wardley, he gets knocked out. I really like Parker but man he did not approach that fight the right way. Parker is far better at actual boxing than Wardley. Instead he choose to go to war with a guy who has war literally in his name (WARdley)
Who? I mean probably something but not sognificantly. Parker isn't exactly a ppv draw and he lost his position. Still he is good. So it works the other way, too - for other fighters there are better paydays for the same risk than to fight parker. So I wouldn't be quick to criticize bakole as a bad option, when parker just joined that club... (But many fighters seem to think along those lines and the end result is noone fighting anyone)
I mean, Parker sparked him out in round 2 very recently. Why should he give Bakole a rematch when Bakole hasn't really done anything since? He should work on winning a few fights first.
No fighter who hasn't trained properly in months, takes a fight on 2 days notice and fights an optimally prepared world level opponent would be able to show much. Bakole also asked for a rematch immediately the day after.
Takam and Bakole are good friends, probably drop that one, but I agree with the sentiment. He'd just entered top 10 and looked like he might do something. But he and the people around him got greedy taking the Parker fight. Foolish move that derailed his career. He had a final eliminator lined up through the IBF, ffs. It was an insane decision driven by money. Guess him and Nelson can now buy all the deep fried mars bars Bakole can stomach
