Nice fight. if ajagba fights like he did against bakole, he has a chance to win and get robbed on the cards. He could also lose. But it wouldn't be an easy matchup for wardley. Still wardley would be favorite.
It's an okay keep-busy for Wardley if they want to give him a step down fight (a level or two down from full-****** Parker)... Wardley would obviously be strong favourite, for good reason. Ajagbas very mediocre.
Ajagba does well for a few rounds, eventually gets overwhelmed by the speed and power of Wardley. He'd be the hardest hitter Wardley has faced by a good margin though so him scoring a knockout isn't out of the question.
Ajagba might win a couple rounds if I'm being generous, but Wardley will bulldoze Ajagba quickly enough. Ajagba is a fair bit below Parker's level.
Ajagba is huge, and, seems like a nice guy. But, he really can't fight all that well. Wardley wins by KO.
In spite of his enormous size, I don't think Ajagba's power is particularly devastating. What quality opponent has he ever knocked out?
It's a good fight. Wardley is on a hot streak but honestly he is going to lose soon enough. It may not be to Ajagba but it's not like Wardley is levels above him. Outside of Usyk and Fury the rest of the top 20 heavyweights could beat each other on any given night.
Beating even the worst version of Parker strongly suggests that's exactly what he is... It would be generous to consider Ajagba a gatekeeper.
You were saying the same thing about Wardley before he beat Parker. Dude haa a draw with Clarke, went life and death with Huni, got rocked by Eric Molina, but beat Parker comprehensively. Ajagba winning this is not an upset to me, the entire top 20 bar Usyk have a realistic chance against eachother Resumes don't win fights
I like guys to have actually proved something before picking them - shocking, I know... Wardley had done okay before Parker without proving anything particularly special - Ajagba so far looks even more mediocre and doesn't have anywhere near as good a signature win... So, sure, there's probably a level or two between them - and Wardley would rightly be a strong favourite. And sure, plenty of surprises are possible at heavy in general, and especially while so many guys have thin resumes - that doesn't change that the more proven guys should be expected to beat the ones with mediocre records.
But Wardley went tooth and nail with lesser guys than Parker only to beat Parker. They should be expected to win but it's not always reality. I wouldn't make Wardley a strong favourite because I know what ajagba is capable of
