At 147 Horn was big he would just maul Broner and fight dirty probably winning a wide decision.

It depends on how motivated Broner is and where the fight is being held. Horn cant beat anyone remotely near world class outside of Australia.

Broner is not a 147 lb'er. His losses at that weight weren't even arguably close..... Jeff Horn was a big welterweight. He physically bullied Manny.....Broner lost to Manny a little over a year later.

I have zero confidence in Broner doing much of anything at welterweight.

The Broner that beat Paul Malignaggi would beat Horn. Broner was "still" good back then with extremely straight pinpoint accurate punches. Horn would get eaten up every time he came in to maul.

Broner wouldn’t throw enough punches in a totally winnable fight. He should’ve maxed out at 140.

Yeah it's possible I just don't think that Broner would be capable of hurting Horn and he doesn't throw enough. If the fight was in Queensland Horn would head butt and rabbit punch the hell out of Broner  If the fight is in the US and Broner is in good shape I could see him out boxing Horn to a decision. No doubt though that Glenn Rushton would have a hell of a game plan.

Broner isn't remotely near world class when he isn't miracle-draining himself to beat up featherweights.

I agree. But probably closer than Horn ever was.

Yeah I agree for the most part although Broner did even some sneaky power even at Welterweight on occasion(like when he dropped Porter in the 12th) Horn had no power he got by on pure illegal rough house tactics that don't fly if he's fighting outside of Australia. I think he's a bigger fraud than Broner is for that reason. Broner was a weight bully who is very mediocre at WW but he did have some actual boxing ability unlike Horn.

Yeah agree that Horn relied on rough house tactics but he did have some power he sparked a few guys out cold early in his career and was able to drop Zerafa a couple of times. Yep both guys were frauds anywhere outside of Queensland Horn would of been disqualified. The first Zerafa fight was in Melbourne and the ref did not allow any of Horn's illegal tactics. He tried them against Tszyu but was just totally out gunned. I think your original post is correct this fight 100% depends on where it is held. Broner is a lot more skilled but he is a weight bully and would not be able to weight bully Horn who was a weight bully himself at 147.

One thing I do know is that Australian boxing's greatest thinker, Glenn Rushton, would have formulated a plan.

    No. He. Wouldn't have.

The Broner that beat PM was good. Very good given the opponent and style he was facing. But PM is not comparable to Jeff Horn, size nor strength. Jeff Horn is all energy and dirty tactics. Broner would have had to make adjustments round after round vs Horn. Adjusting the the grappling. The leading with the head....the brute volume of punches coming downhill. Having the have the strength of throwing Horn off consistently..... Something the Broner would not have been able to do especially in the later rounds. Paul Malignaggi was far from an elite welterweight. He like Broner had no business competing at 147lbs.

2013 Broner was not the same as 2019 Broner. People have forgotten how strong Broner closed the Maidana fight; he won a lot of the later rounds and beat the crap out of Maidana, clearly hurting him on at least one occasion.

But Horn made his pro debut in 2013, and from 2017 to 2019 Horn would have been more than capable of beating Broner had they fought.

So you want me to put the best version of Broner in the ring with a pro debut version of Jeff Horn?..... I thought the whole point of these "fantasy match ups" is to put both fighters in the ring at the prime version of themselves.

The best version of Broner would struggle greatly vs the best version of Jeff Horn off of size and strength alone. Jeff Horn is also not some flat foot slugger who'll just sit in front of Broner to be countered. So I would say it wouldn't even take the best version of Horn to beat Broner...
