How do people have the nerve to say Harry Greb would be competitive in any era?

Concentrate on the draw then (and we'll leave the robbery for another day).

How is the fighter you described, the one you believe you have seen in action in that sparring, able to draw with prime Gene Tunney?

While all this is at least partially correct it doesn't support what you said about Greb being pelted by Froch. Whether you think Greb was lucky to get the results he did against Tunney and people calling him the GOAT are out of the line he was a peer of Tunney who was much smaller and you can't really take that away from him.

Tunney was not the only ATG HW Greb fought. There was Miske, Gibbons and Loughran. Greb at least held his own. Greb was the worst H2H of that group for sure. But hes very clearly a peer. Same with Mickey Walker.

Negative because the fight doesn't exist on tape.. I concentrate on the 6 bouts , only one of which Greb won. That's tells me everything.
Plus Tunney was handicapped from Greb gouging at his eyes

Tunney called Greb an octopus. @Seamus loves octopus boxers

Concentrate on the fact that the fight in which Greb destroyed Tunney, that put Gene in the hospital for days, occurred 3 years and 60 some fights after Greb's peak year of 1919 when he went 45-0, 16 of those victories over Hall of Famers, occurred after Kid Norfolk destroyed his eye. Concentrate on that.

So what. He got gouged to the eyes.
Usyk was rushed to the hospital after beating Fury. What does that prove. Nothing

    Hi Buddy.
I have been following your back and forth with various posters regarding the merits and placing of Greb, and it's getting ugly, we had a private chat at the start of the year, you took me to task about my view on a certain fight which didn't take place, you had a perceived impression of me, and what you thought I was like, we exchanged on a private DM, which will remain private as promised, but you said that you felt posters were picking on you, having a dig at you, you realised I was not doing anything like that, you apologised, I accepted, and we parted friends, so I implore you not to travel that route this time, you have your thoughts on Greb and that's your entitlement, but it is futile, like it or not, most if not all posters view Greb as an ATG, you will not change anyone's mind believe me, so before you travel down that road again, think long and hard as to whether this is worth continuing, it will do you no good, I wrote this because I know deep down you are a decent chap, and you care what people think.
stay safe dinovelvet, from a friend.
    Mike.

How frustrating is it that not only do we have zero fight footage of possibly the greatest pound for pound fighter in history, but who also happens to have a style that is practically impossible to describe and must be seen to be believed??

Yes. 3 of the top 10 non champions for sure.

Gibbons went unbeaten longer then Marciano and Floyd.

Miske knocked out Fulton and was fighting at an elite level with a terminal illness. Miske wasn't nearly as good at LHW for whatever reason but if we look at HW in a bubble his P4P credentials are Langford level.

Loughran might be the single best HW non champ ever.
