Fundora - Honestly I always thought Vergil would brutally stop him but his performance against Zoo was brilliant. This version could give Vergil issues but I’ll still go Vergil. Ramos - I think this one goes the distance and Vergil wins a close one like he did against Madrimov. Ramos is a very good tricky fighter but Vergil is just better. Bakhram - I give slight edge to Vergil since I think he’s more explosive and quicker but I still wouldn’t be shocked if Bahkram stopped him. Ennis - I think this is a bad style for Vergil tbh. I think Madrimov is a tougher fight for Ennis than Vergil. Ennis thrives on dudes who come to fight and he has a big speed advantage over Vergil. I think I have Ennis by KO on this one but it would be a brilliant fight.
For a man who is supposed to be a defensive wizard, Boots gets hit more often than he should. Sometimes he gets hit while admiring his own work. Ortiz Jr via KO.
By eye test, looks to me like Boots is the favorite, but he's fought nothin' but relative cans. I could see Boots by decision or Vergil by early KO or late KO behind on the cards. No mid fight KO for either nor decision for Vergil. Should be a great fight and I like both guys. Lets Get It On!!
I think Ortiz can beat Ennis but Fundora is a hard fight for anyone because of his hight/reach. I still favor Ortiz in an ugly fight.
Seriously though, let's not forget that Murtazaliev struggled mightily against Culcay, who landed a aplenty before grinding him down late. Let's not forget that Chukhadzhian was lighting up and hurting Ennis and got robbed of a decision. Let's not forget that whether you agree with the decision or not, Ramos couldn't put a dent in Lubin. If Ortiz fights like he fought today, as in intelligently, and not walking into punches like he usually does. He does a number on all of them. None of them are elusive or hard to touch, and none of them have truly had their punch resistance tested. Whereas Ortiz has, plenty of times. His chin is solid.
Ortiz is live vs them all and the favorite vs most Really want fundora or Ennis next Ortiz improves every fight vs a range of styles
The problem Boots faces is that he's fought limited opposition tailor-made for him. He's beaten them easily, as he should have done, although the 2nd Karen fight was closer than people made out. As a result, Hearn has been coming out with total horse**** about Boots being the number one P4P in waiting, and he's done nothing to be anywhere near this conversation. He will take this false confidence into an Ortiz fight, and I can see it being a big mistake. Ortiz has fought far better opposition and had to dig deep and beat them. Boots will be making a giant leap when he gets in there with Ortiz. I honestly think a properly motivated and fully fit Madrimov beats Ennis; I am really not sold on him, especially defensively. He is there to be hit by B-rate opposition, so Bakhram and Ortiz, elite 154 fellas who can actually punch, could do some real damage. I think Ortiz beats him and outworks him over 12 rounds. I don't think he stops him, but it's clear that Ennis and his team didn't want it the first time around, and there's a reason why.
@ellerbe would pick Spence to beat Ortiz at 154. Its not about skill or logic...iykyk. So take his Ennis smoke with a rather large grain of salt.
I'd favour Ortiz over them all right now. Fundora is a freak but he gives up his height and reach too much and stands and trades inside. That almost cost him against Lupin who dropped him but that would be suicide against Ortiz. It would be a fun fight while it lasts but Ortiz brutally KO's him. Ramos get's stopped and possibly early. He'd go right at Ortiz and Ortiz is simply better schooled and backs him up and takes him apart. Bahkram looked really good vs Tszyu. Huge reach, nice counters with either hand, good variety and clearly has KO power. But Tszyu likes to stand in that mid range while Ortiz would look to get in closer where the long reach of Bakhram would be less effective. That and the difference in speed, has me favour Ortiz he wouldn't just stand in range with no head movement like Tszyu. Ortiz is much more dangerous and when pressing would look to get inside and not just throw and then stay in range to be countered like Tszyu. Ennis is a tougher one to call. Ennis' speed and power makes him dangerous against anyone. But Ennis can get caught, he's not defensive wizard. He's more Spence Jr than a Crawford. I'm leaning to Ortiz but Ennis definitely has a chance.
Fundora with his dimensions alone is a nightmare for anybody but he can be hurt. You need to stick to a game plan to beat him and I think Ortiz would be capable of this.
I think that Ortiz v Bahkram is a great fight. It is still hard to gauge Bahkram completely because he is being ducked. He looked great against Tszyu but Tszyu also had a stupid game plan if he even had one at all. Tim thought he could just blast him out of there Ortiz will not be as reckless.
I think he has a decent shot at beating everyone in the division right now. Fundora, especially in the form that we saw against Tszyu recently is a tough fight for anybody, but I think Vergil could take it through his body work and inside fighting. I think he'd prove too experienced and tenacious for Zayas. Bakhram would be a very dangerous fight for him, good chance of him getting clipped like what happened against Bohachuck, but I think he's an overall better fighter and has enough tools to pull out a win by decision or late stoppage. Him Vs Boots is close and whoever wins, I think the fight would be very competitive. Boots is the overall more athletic fighter, though I think the speed gap between the two is actually not nearly as much as many seem to think. Vergil is more battle tested against better opposition and usually has a tighter defense than Boots. Boots versatility and speed/power would prove a tough challenge but he has a tendency to not use his advantages fully and to instead just go all out trying to overwhelm his opponents, leaving himself open which could be disastrous against Ortiz if he can't take his power. I don't really see Boots being able to convincingly and cleanly outbox Vergil for the full 12 nor do I see him cleanly beating him in brawl, so I favour Vergil by a close decision or possible late stoppage in that fight.
