This all comes down to the Pre-Ruiz and Post-Ruiz versions of Roy. RJJ's entire career is defined by that.

The pre-Ruiz version was impossible to nail with anything clean and would have been a favourite against most ATGs from history.

The post-Ruiz version was getting iced out cold by US domestic level fighters. So no doubt that GGG would have had a Post-Ruiz out cold if they had fought. But then you need to also recognise that a pre-Ruiz Roy would have been highly likely to outbox GGG to a decision especially the one from around the Toney fight.

 

Lou Del Valle didn’t seem to have any problems. Also, Prime Roy gets knocked out by Hagler, Spinks, Charles, Foster, Moorer, Patterson, Beterbiev, Kovalev, etc the idea that with that Glass Jaw he beats anyone in history is just ridiculous.

 

Name one fight in Jones prime where Jones was badly staggered by anyone.

 

Lou was a southpaw and landed one punch that dropped Roy.
Roy got up and won a fight that he completely dominated.

I already have. Jones had no Chin. None. He was a Glass Jawed Fighter and explains a lot if you look at his career and how he managed to maneuver through divisions. They knew.

 

So your trying to tell me that Jones had a horrible chin and he was just so fast that NOBODY ever landed on him for like 18 years because you would have to include the amateur ranks as well which featured Jones facing the best in the world as well.
Nobody in the gym,and he faced tons of people in sparring trying to make a name for themselves, ever managed to land on Jones in thousands of rounds in sparring??
Think for a moment how foolish that sounds.

lol please, Roy got knocked out and hurt above 168 in his mid 30s, GGG is a 160 pound fighter and lost wide in his only fight above 160. Jones beats and knocks him out at any weight class they compete in.

No way in hell could Roy have stopped GGG. You're deluded and stupid if you think he could. GGG's chin was pure granite.

When Jones Jr's speed slowed down just a little, the fragility of his chin was for the world to see, although the signs were already there when he got decked hard in the Del Valle fight.
