Joe Parker few years back was accused of being a part of an international drugs ring...Samoan Tony Montana over here. :flamethrower2::picknose::rocket:

PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT...unless you're getting punched in the head 50 times in a row in the 11th then stop throwing punches and give up.

Worth noting he was never formally accused. Police investigated and decided not to go further (and we don't shy away from prosecuting people in NZ no matter how high profile).

Joe on cocaine is pretty wild, seemed like he was in a great place with his family while training for Wardley, goes to show how misleading social media can be.

This feels like such a perfect comeback for a naughty kid, or on a t-shirt or a gif!

If you're a top level athlete and arn't trying to find PEDS that will easily fly past most testing regimes then you're not a top level athlete.

Pretty much all of them have used PEDS. Some are WAY more obvious than others. It was very obvious when Parker, Joyce, Chisora, Haye and others got on a PED cycle, they bulked very visibly and none of them have failed a test. Usyk is on PEDS. Fury might as well not be on PEDS because he loses the advantage from his poor routine. AJ is a PED goblin. Wlad, Vitali. The list goes on. But many of them arn't on constant PED routines.

Parker helped move a truckload of meth into NZ. People are surprised he did some coke?

Parker didn't fail for standard PEDs but anyone who thinks he and most other boxers aren't juiced out their ass are naive. They're all on it

Stupid. Wardley would have been enough of a challenge without Parker arriving in the ring on Bolivian marching powder.

Coke should be out of your system fairly quick, I doubt Parker was out partying the week of the fight so he might been on coke during the fight… wild, I haven’t heard anyone being on coke during a fight in a long time…

You'd have to search far and wide to find a boxer who doesn't have some shady characters around them. The sport is full of shady characters as it is, but because it often helps lift people out of poverty, there's a lot of crossover, and people grow up around these characters. Look how many boxers are linked with Kinahan. Still, though, poor form from Joe, and in 2017 he was well on his way to big-money fights, what a crazy thing to get tied into, it goes to show how a very well-managed public image can pull the wool over people's eyes, including mine.

I also remember an article saying that Parker was accused of aiding in drug smuggling. This, plus the fact that he was very close to the Fury family, who weren't exactly prudes, may indicate that there was/is some shady dealing going on. But that's just speculation. Nobody's likely to launch an investigation because he attends church services every Sunday. The guy must have had connections to the underworld, but they clearly couldn't muster enough evidence to pin him down.

However, these are just speculations, but it seems the FACTS are that Parker is... an idiot. At the peak of his career, at the very top, just before an extremely important fight, he decided to party and get high on cocaine. According to what they're saying, the drug's detectability is so short-lived that he had to snort a line the week before the fight, which sounds disastrous. The guy is either addicted to this type of activity or extremely stupid, because he must have known he'd be tested.

As if it weren't so bad and a great pity. It's not steroids, so the penalties should be more lenient. Whether a boxer parties or not is primarily his own private matter, but doing this sort of thing around important fights is something that deserves criticism.
