I still can't believe they kept referring to Rod Stewart as "his excellency" then again he gave Britt Ekland one back in the day so fairs fair.

Didnt buy or watch first one didnt buy this one. Literally just had the names going for it this fight, 2 ok fighters, one well past it, having to meet weight stipulations that hinder him further, made up beef to do with the da’s. Just didn’t see what made this ppv and Ive bought some questionable ones over the years.

the rehydration clauses won’t have helped but he hasn’t looked great for ages, Liam smith bladdered him and was himself a walking punchbag in the rematch dues to other factors, this papered over cracks as hed have beaten him up again otherwise. Benn a small fighter who’s done nothing. Just a terrible ppv all round

I see Benn is going with the “last result is the one that counts” nonsense and ignoring the trilogy - that’s been set up as a narrative since April because he couldn’t accept losing fair and square but knew Eubank was goosed.

Worst of all was the Benns arrogantly celebrating a first win over the Eubanks ignoring the fact it’s 2-1 over 4 fights and only one of them got stopped.

Matchroom has become an unbearable promotion. In the early Sky days you could get behind some of their guys because they were hard working boxers with their own lives before Hearn, but since Bellew’s elevation to casual favourite the whole organisation has the morals and arrogance of a mob family. All stems from the top and that recent Netflix show about them just documents it.

I’ll never give a drug cheat credit. Should be banned for life and anyone who supports him is an idiot.

    Seen the highlights.

That fight teaches us 0 about Benn.

Eubank was area level last night.

Benn was disciplined/controlled etc is all very easy when you are fighting a corpse.

Scum outfit. Obviously chief scumbag Eddie is head of it all, but it just sums him up that he employs a load of smarmy young kids because a) he probably hates being told no from his silver spoon childhood & knows this lot won’t challenge him and b) needs melts like Frank Smith and Parsons to boost his ego.

Exactly, what respect can benn and the team expect to earn from a win against that version of eubank? An absolute costume of his former self

I can only think that Eubanks got some issues outside of the ring, possibly financial and that those involved with making this fight knew and used it to their advantage-he has been put in a position where he’s had to take the fight for the loot and has had to surrender any sort of advantage, it’s a bum deal whichever way you look at it and either he’s been badly advised by those around him or, more likely, he’s had no choice but to roll over and take it for the sake of the pound notes

Don’t forget that matchroom have frank as an inside man, who’s probably privy to the issues jr’s facing? With family like that there’s really no need for enemies

I’m sure it’ll all come out in a book one day…..

The reference to two months of hell sounded like something far worse than financial troubles.

    Exactly

The last thing Jnr will have is financial problems, especially if he’s non-UK domiciled and living in Dubai. He’s reportedly made over £20 million from the last two fights alone – and that’s net. He was probably alluding to the training camp and whatever else has been going on around him.

Ironically, the worst decision he made might have been reconciling with his father after the first fight. For all the showmanship, the guy can be a walking, talking, living nightmare.

Boxing used to seem well-run and professional, now it’s like a kids club. Parsons running around with his camera, Sam Jones desperate to jump in on any interview and Hearn head of the kindergarten like some weird 80’s film.

Wouldn't surprise me. I've seen him play and he's terrible, but being the person he is, refuses to accept this and plays at stakes where people eat him alive.

And that’s exactly why even the commentary team seemed so invested in Conor winning. Jnr sees the whole thing for what it is, and in his mind all he really had to do was make weight – a guaranteed eight-figure payday regardless. It felt like another night where Turki was being leaned on heavily again, at least from the outside looking in.

The way things are going, if Joshua–Fury happens next year it’ll probably turn into another Benn–Eubank-style spectacle, with everyone lined up behind Joshua in however many fights they spin it into. Boxing has always been open season, and to keep his seat next to Turki, Eddie needs every sycophant in place around him.

You could also see Tyson coming in totally out of shape if they spin it into a sequel and a trilogy.

Edit: Turki’s financial records for his boxing ventures likely read a lot worse than DAZN’s, percentage- and profitability-wise - must be hundreds of millions in the hole at this stage.

Mr Turki is being rinsed and rinsed while UK boxing is in the gutter.

Could take years to recover from this period of mediocrity.
