The best fighter GGG ever stopped was David Lemieux. Jones had an 85% KO ratio below 168. GGG never fought anyone as dangerous as Roy Jones who likes hit just as hard at that weigh or harder. Roy's skills speed and movement were on another level than GGG, he would have styled on him and likely stopped him. GGG had nothing for a prime Roy.

The people talking about Roy's glass chin are talking about a past prime Roy at much higher weights, when the comparison should be prime vs prime, and apparently the majority of this forum think GGG stops prime Roy Jones...lol

Well if you're starting to make RJJ the more dangerous puncher let's ask the question the other way round - who is the best fighter RJJ ever stopped?
You're citing RJJ as 85% ko ratio below 168. I don't really care about that since wilder had a 100% ko ratio and it very much depends on your matchups and how hard you commit to keep that statistic high. But going by pure numbers GGG had over 89% before fighting canelo. Both with the same number of fights and similar level of opposition. (If you want to make young toney and hopkins out to be way better than GGGs opposition they still only account for a few fights - and if he didn't ko them, he doesn't ko GGG)

Putting the nonsense aside, I wouldn't bet on GGG knocking out RJJ, but it is almost inconceivable the other way round.

As a person representing the sport I would always go with clean GGG. But fighting doped RJJ you probably have to make RJJ the slight favorite. But I wouldn't bet on anyone here.

GGG never fought the punchers Roy did, considering he fought all the way to HW, so you can't really compared their chins at 160. Secondly, if you think GGG who was ripped at 40 years of age when he moved to 168 was clean, I have a bridge to sell you.

 Found the guy who never did a situp. Being ripped isn't a function of drugs it is a function of diet and exercise. I was ripped last year and that was at 49

Jones was too big and too good at 160, and 168. Lemieux didnt have the best chin and Golovkin landed the kitchen sink on him before the stoppage, in a fight where Golovkin was a lot less aggressive than usual due to him respecting his opponents power.
There is no way Golovkin stops Jones at middleweight.

I decided a while back that since peds are so prevalent in boxing, that all the top guys are on it. Concerning fantasy matchups, I just tend to picture the fight in my mind between both participants at their best.

It's pretty obvious that Roy Jones only had a problem with his chin after he came back down from heavyweight. Before that there was only a flash knockdown and he had never been seriously hurt from what I remember. So at middleweight, his chin was fine.

Golovkin is exactly the type of opponent that Roy shined against, a straight ahead textbook type boxer with limited imagination and an easy Rhythm to figure out.

Jones makes him look silly before knocking him out late in the fight.

I decided a while back, innocent until proven guilty.

I also decided that Golovkin on PEDs would have 100% KO rate.

Jones has no chance against my assumptions.

I hear what you're saying, I used to think the same way, innocent until proven guilty. But I have found one of the advantages to assuming everyone does it, is that it makes it easier to pick in a fantasy matchup, less extraneous stuff to think about LOL.

So I've added peds to the list of things I don't count when considering matchups, along with amateur records, fighting in someone else's backyard, youngest to win this or that title, being awed by size, Etc.

What ****** thinks that GGG could beat RJJ?

Did RJJ hardly lose a round convincingly until he faced Tarver at light heavyweight? The first fight of course.

Boxing was a play thing to RJJ until he won a portion of the heavyweight championship and dropped two weight divisions.

Would GGG be able to take any of the many tools and attributes Roy would bring the to the table?

I see a whole lot of “LOL ROY CANT TAKE THAT POWER!”

I bet if they hadn’t fought, a lot of yall would be saying the same about Roy vs Toney….

Except Roy and Toney did fight and it was an awful boring fight full of posing and feints etc.
The idea that GGG or Hagler or whoever in history wouldn't be able to land one single punch on Roy's abysmal Glass Jaw is laughable. That logic is insane. Its not the same as fighting the truck drivers, postal workers police officers and host of other civil servants Roy seemed to like to fight for some reason.
