Jake Paul Phony Fights Discussion

Sanctioned or not, I don't believe this is a real fight.

AJ won't hurt Paul. It will be scripted.

 

There have been worse mismatches than this, this is still bearable, Paul is a Top 80 fighter and is somewhat of a threat, but still a minimal threat...

 

Who has Paul beaten that puts him in the top 100 at cruiser or heavyweight? The only actual legit full-time professional he has fought was a club-level UK fighter who outboxed him over eight rounds. The rest of the wins have been against decrepit, shot-to-bits boxers and MMA fighters. I can't think of a bigger mismatch I've seen in the last decade.

AJ needs Tommy Fury in his camp.

The only person to have defeated the mighty Paul will provide much needed guidance to achieve this mammoth feat.

 

AJ can't weight more than 245 LOL never seen a rehydration clause on a heavyweight fight.
I still doubt that this is a real fight I really hope it is though and that AJ hurts him badly.

 

Same. I know Joshua has been looking iffy lately but this is the chance for him to finally swat this annoying fly that has been crawling over the face of the sport for some time now. There's no reason even a diminished AJ cannot obliterate Paul.

 

Fury isn't a big puncher, and Ngannou is every bit a superheavy. This isn't the same thing, as AJ is a big puncher and Jake Paul is a small cruiser.

 

Eh, what was he, 252 for his last fight? He was lean, but not super shredded. Why even bother with doing a water weight cut when he's never done one (seriously, when's the last time AJ weighed under 200lbs, when he was in middle school?)? Time to get jacked.

 

I will honestly be amazed if it goes past the 2 minute mark

 

Oh yeah look it won't make a difference it just goes to show this little weasel Paul always needs to try an sneak something in there to try and give himself an advantage. If anything AJ will have to train harder to get to 245 when he could really beat Jake without a training camp at all.

 

A boxing judge? Pretty sure they will hear the case and just submit a 99-91 scorecard out of muscle memory

 

Netflix wants to be in the business of dangerous fights with exceptionally old ex fighters and fights with giant skill and size mismatches seems like a bad idea.

But hey, whatever gets those views for a night and bumps some subscriptions.

 

In interviews with Eddie, guys have been invoking "the integrity of boxing."

Let's face it.... I'm afraid that's an oxymoron now... if it hasn't actually been for decades....

I wonder if 30 years from now we'll see Jake Paul as the Bobby Riggs of Boxing ... challenging female fighters half his age....

 

Regulated in what way? AJ cannot go full force, 8, 2 minute rounds etc?
