He wants one of them again for the big money, and he thinks maybe Fury or Joshua will be confident enough to go after Wardley and maybe get a belt back.

    Sound right?

Could be, honestly I don't think Usyk cares who he fights but at 38 I'm sure his management wants the biggest money for the least risk.

After going into everyone's backyards and taking their belts he has little left to prove.

Pretty sure Joshua gets knocked out by Wardley though and Fury is probably too far gone at this point.

So what you mean is that Usyk actually doesn’t want to fight for money, but he reluctantly takes big-money bouts because his greed-driven management forces him to?

    Funny…

Not sure if you're trolling or not.

However you are making a strawman argument. Full stop.

The best fighters listen to their management. That's why they have management. Fighters need managers they trust to make sure they don't end up brain damaged or broke, unable to play with their kids.

Boxers typically aren't afraid of anyone, especially at Usyks level.

I did call this in another thread. It's blatantly obvious at this point.

No. It’s as if you’re implying that Usyk doesn’t really want to fight for money, that he’d rather face mandatory opponents, but that under pressure from his management he vacates his belts and ends up fighting big names like Fury.

What I’m saying is that this isn’t the case. Usyk himself is the one chasing the biggest profit, and that’s why he sometimes gives up titles to avoid bouts that would earn less. He makes that decision himself, not his management.

In fact, there’s no real “management”—the people you call his management are just salaried employees of Usyk. His only goal is to stuff his pockets as much as possible before he retires. That’s why his final fight will be against Jake Paul—just wait and see.

    1. Usyk will fight Jake Paul

    And ....

    2. The idea that Fabio Wardley, whatever his limitations, would lose to washed-up versions of AJ and Fury makes no sense.

The plan is clearly for Fury to beat Wardley, then we get Usyk-Fury 3.

Turki tease a big fight in Manchester in april. It could be Fury vs Wardley. Then the winner could face Usyk or AJ.

    Fury would lose to Wardley.
It's a good fight to raise Wardley's profile and make some real big money. And, yes, that would make Usyk-Wardley a huge fight.

Usyk can do whatever the hell he wants at 39 years of age (which is what he will be in 2 months time and by the next time he fights) after having clocked boxing 10 x over and having spent his career fighting in his opponent's backyards and on the road much of it as the B-side and since moving up to HW having been a perpetual thorn in the side of those who want him out of the way. And especially after having done everything the hard, right and honourable way and trodden a path so many others wouldn't even contemplate doing or which some categorically refused to ever do even once.

They still desperately want him out of the way and they're going to succeed via hook or via crook. He can do whatever he wants just as long as he vacates the belts he chooses not to defend against his mandatories.

TBH I like Usyk but if he's only planning to fight once a year which he has been doing for the past 6 years I'd rather him just retire so the division can move on.

Usyk isn't getting any younger and a fight against someone like Wardley isn't going to do a great deal for his resume and I'd rather Wardley not get exposed because I quite like him.

So yeah Usyk should retire with his legacy and health intact and let the division just carry on with younger Heavyweights taking us into a new era.

Neither should be getting the shot.

I think hes not fighting soon and wouldn't have kept the belt if he tried.

I figured Wardley would be a good marketable opponent at a relatively low risk but I guess it's probably not the fight that gets usyk motivated at this point

Wardley is going to have a big target on his back and I think parker 2 is fair

Maybe this is also usyks way of letting an opponent build their profile to make a title fight more worth it

At this point it'd take more than a alphabet paper belt to resurrect the fly infested flotsam that Fury and Joshua have become, and If either fight again the opponent will probably be a celebrity, wrestler, or D level corpse. If they still have fans you have my condolences .
