Interesting, I didn't see it that way... They look similar to me. Makes the fight even more intriguing.

I'd say the poll results are right , Benavidez is the obvious choice here. He's Younger, and has beaten better competition in his last 5 fights than Yarde. Neither man has exactly been busy though, Benavidez fought last February and Yarde last April so it may take a few rounds to get going but I'd say Benavidez by TKO around 8-10. Depends on how much he presses the issue

It took Kovalev and Beterbiev 11 and 9 rounds respectively to stop Yarde, they literally had to beat it out of him.................Benavidez doesn't have anywhere near that type of power or ability. Benavidez would get stopped before Yarde. I think the smart money is Benavidez by very competitive decision.

Yeah some good points. After seeing the Gvozdyk fight I favored Yarde but more time has past and I think that Benavidez is improving and Yarde maybe declining. Yarde's career is a funny one he goes from fighting relative unknowns to stepping up against the best. In regards to the Morrell fight I think both were weight bullies at 168 so neither had a size advantage at 175. Yarde's size and strength is his biggest advantage in this fight I really hope he wins and think he will have some moments but I am going with Benavidez for the win.

If the Yarde from the Beterbiev fight turns up he wins.

But he's looked regressed from that in his recent fights.

Benavidez is the rightful favourite but the odds are FAR too wide. This should definitely be a competitive fight.

Benavidez is going to land way more on Yarde than those 2.

    Benavidez within 10

Would be the upset of the year of Yarde wins.

Yarde at 11/1 by KO/TKO/DQ seems too wide. Outside of Bivol x2 and Gvozdyk, he gave Beterbiev his most competitive fight. He wasn't too far off stopping Kovalev in the 8th. He blew through Sjekloca and Arthur 2 inside 4 rounds, the only times they've been stopped. This is probably Yarde's last chance as a contender at 34, he's the clear B-side and I doubt he can outbox Benavidez, so he must know that he's probably going to have to go for broke if he wants to win.

Plant, a past his best Gvozdyk and Morrell were all competitive with Benavidez, didn't get dropped and went 12 rounds, and I suspect that Yarde is the most dangerous puncher Benavidez will have faced thus far. I think Yarde is live here.

I actually agree with you that he will. And it's going to show how much power he does not have at LHW. He couldn't even crack Gvodzyk and even let Gvodzyk arguably win the majority of the late rounds. He's not going to be a LHW phenom.

The Plant fight was everything but competitive! I was there so I’m not sure how it looked on TV but I was sitting pretty close and it looked like it could have been stopped any time.

The second half of the Plant-Ben fight was not competitive. The first half was very competitive.

Indeed, Plant was ahead on two of the judges' cards after six. The third judge had it dead even.

That might be what I remember, the end of the fight was a beat down, it was fun.

Benavidez by dominate KO. Yarde's career infuriates me.

It does seem like by now that it would dawn on people, Benavidez is no way even near the level of Beterbiev or even that version of Kovalev. Now, not saying that Benavidez won't win here, but it's also quite clear he's a weight bully and his already average power has not carried up, after all, he's always been a volume guy and never a one punch guy. Morrell was far more cautious against Khataev, who actually dropped him. So if it doesn't give the naturally more cautious Morrell, who took less risks against Hot Rod pause. Why does anything think that a guy who mixed it up and went toe to toe on a few occasions with Beterbiev, is going to be fearful? Yes Yarde has a chance, and a fairly good one. Hell, Plant was far more fearful of Canelo's power than his.

But he's better and Yarde is very easy to hit.
