Thought the forum would appreciate this. Most of these are upscaled versions of already existing footage but there are some hidden gems on here; footage of Battling Levinsky, Jack Delaney, extra footage of Corbett-Fitzsimmons, among others.

Minute 1:56 that little skidaddle Jim Flynn made when the round ended is just pure gold, looks like he was scared shitless of Langford :risas3:

Somebody was brutally knocked out in that Joe Beckett vs. Bombardier Billy Wells fight. Some great footage in here.

On a side note, hopefully they remove the ban on Klompton. The guy is obviously extremely knowledgeable. Always enjoyed reading his posts.

Boxing historian Steve Compton, who owns the most extensive boxing film collection in the world aside from ESPN, uploaded a 30 minute compilation of footage from his archive, some never seen by the public before.

    Excellent, Kudo's too Klompton.

Lovely clear footage, much of which I have seen before but not so nicely viewable. Excellent, I trust much of it has been restored and very well I might add.

More to say about this but got to fly atm.

    Well Done and Thank you.

He’s a very very knowledgeable guy but also rude, arrogant, obstinate and basically unpleasant. The guys who cheer leader him are only a half step down.

I don’t mind him being welcomed back because he’s a very informed guy but again hes a difficult person

Aye Griff, I feel much the same way about him. His dedication and diligence as an uncoverer of primary sources, provenance and his work ethic as an archivist and historian are remarkable and a big asset to any boxing community. The problem is the conflation of his often belligerent and reactionary personal opinions with the empirical information he unearths. Basically taking his own opinion and interpretation of the data as fact and aggressively hectoring anyone who questions otherwise. Repeated bans on here or any public forum usually don't just fall out the sky, as the long history of repeated arguments on years worth of threads on here attests to. When you're aggressively treating posters like mante and Stone hands as idiots.,.....yeah, I haven't much time for people like that regardless of how good a researcher they are. If anything, his accomplishments in that regard have stopped me from regarding him as more of a twat than I would've done if he was less knowledgeable.

My other slight issue is that I think he's an average interpreter of fights and the technical side of boxing at best, which isn't so much a problem in itself but is more grating when you're slagging off posters who are very good and observant in that regard.

I should say though that this isn't meant as a personal dig at him and that there are better places for me to highlight it than in a thread where some of his better contributions to the sport are being presented. Cheers very much for posting the video above OP.
