Cocaine isn't a PED. He should get a hefty fine and be done.

Regardless it's on the banned substances list

Look at Laim Cameron and the ban he got

True enough. Liam Cameron's ban was too long. I think it was four years, right?

He should be left alone, let him pay some kind of fine and that's it...

    Cocaine is considered a PED.

Parker has also been associated with a doctor who's well known for supplying PEDs to famous boxers like Fury for example.

Parker isn't this innocent guy who just made a mistake.

If it is the ban shouldn't be too short. You can't make a showcase out of nonames like liam cameron at the time and then let the big fish like canelo off the hook.

The marketing impact of ped control revolves around these popular cases.

He should retire and go home to his wife and kids the big divvy

Winning an AJ rematch would have and should have been his goal but even against that bum he'd probably falter again.

Spencer Oliver keeps, unironically, saying he's ''blown away' by J-Park testing for cocaine

And also with ''what he (J-Park) had on the line''

According to Simon Jordan the rules have changed since Liam got his ban. It’s no longer 4 years apparently.

I'm leaning towards this. There was clearly no intent to cheat. Parker just totally 'f'd' up like I wouldn't of thought possible by him so,so close to a fight.

    What was he thinking.

It depends on how much he had in his system and when he took it. If he chopped up a few lines before his ringwalk, then this is definitely enough to give him an extra kick. I've seen enough people fighting in city centres on cocaine to know that it can definitely give them this superhuman ability not to feel pain until hours down the line, so it is definitely a PED to some degree.

He should be banned for at least 2 years; it'll do him some good because he's on the way out anyway, and he's had too many wars. An enforced ban is the best thing for him. From an optics point of view, top-level athletes need to have the book thrown at them if they're going to partake in degenerate activities like snorting cocaine, which is almost exclusively a drug for losers in this day and age.

It's not some cool, hip, expensive drug, like it was in the 70s and 80s. The UK is inundated with coked-up losers who think they're Scarface in their local pub. It's not something that athletes should be going near. If they are, they need to feel the weight of the consequences, given how many kids look up to them and the repercussions it can have. Again, though, we need to know more. Parker is completely denying it, so we need to know the whole story and the facts before deciding on the appropriate ban.

    There's a couple of aspects.

The 'non PED' aspect of the drug use.
Breaking the code of conduct for the sport, which is there because these people represent the sport and become idols. They are no longer free to do illegal things and remain 'employed'. And someone like this has been promoted and funded by the NZ government from the beginning and held up as a hero. This is why the punishment should be severe regardless.

Then the PED aspect. If he was under the influence during the fight it absolutely is a PED. It gives energy, alertness, resistance to pain, massive confidence etc. If people don't think this is a PED, ask yourself whether you'd rather have these advantages in a fight or have Saunders' nasal spray or that Russian over the counter pill for heart function.

If he was taking it during training but not during the fight, it's also a PED because it helps weight loss and provides endless energy. The weight loss aspect is a big deal for fat fighters actually.

So it's both illegal and a PED and therefore he should be banned as long as possible. And I'd add some more on that just because he's a fake nice guy and fake 'gentleman'.

For people who say 'but what about Fury'. Well, Fury didn't take coke during a fight and he did it while being awol in training camp for a fight he eventually pulled from. So he received no advantage at all from it. And then he retired anyway and did get a ban. Fury's behaviour was bad too but Parker's was worse for the reasons stated.
