Co-headlining the Ring IV: Night of Champions card along with Haney vs. Norman in Riyadh on November 22nd. At stake will be the vacant WBC and the WBA "regular" light heavyweight title (1st defense of Benavidez, who is also WBC interim champion and number two contender). Yarde is ranked #5 by the WBC and #3 by the WBA.

Zero common opponents, despite being mainstays of the light heavyweight scene in tandem for the last decade. Yarde is six years older and two inches shorter, with 6cm less reach. Both men have thirty bouts, with Benavidez winning all of his and Yarde losing three (but having a higher percentage of victory by KO - 88%, compared with Benavidez's 80%).

Yarde and his trainer Tunde lack the boxing brains to put together tactics or develop a gameplan to beat Benavidez.

Benavidez can watch Yarde's previous fights and know exactly what he is going to do, and develop a gameplan to completely neutralize Yarde.

Its going to be a comfortable UD for Benavidez and possibly a late stoppage. It is good that Yarde is getting another chance but he is never going to win a world title, father time is going to see to that. This will be his last chance fighting for one.

Yarde will put up a fight, and he is game but Benavidez will have too much for him in the end.

I'm going for Yarde to pull off the upset. He was garbage against Arthur but he tends to fight his best when an underdog. And he won't be afraid of Benavidez.

    Lions in the camp.

I dont think Benavidez´ power has carried up to 175. He still clearly hits really hard, and is fast, but hes no longer the much bigger guy in there.

I think benavidez outlasts yarde and stops him late or wins on points

Benevidez's size is often overstated and his power has not carried up as well as he hoped.

Yarde is a big, strong guy and I think Benevidez is going to struggle a bit. I believe he will win, but I don't believe he will be able to stop Yarde and Yarde won't stop trying to win.

Yeah, was kind of surprised to see Benavidez via stoppage take such a big early lead in the poll. Yarde has only been stopped twice, late, by a couple of massive punchers at 175.

As soon as Benavidez establishes dominance Tunde will throw the towel in,as already mentioned the lack of a gameplan/strategy from Yarde’s Team will be there as always for everybody to see .

Yarde will be target practice. Battered to a tko. I will be stunned if he goes the distance and disappointed in David.

I was picking Benavidez, but now I’ve seen their bodies, I’m now picking Yarde.

My hype level for this is around like...a 3.

And not even from ten, but from like a hundred.

I just read that Benavidez vs Yarde will be held on US time. So the card will be taking place at roughly, 4 to 8 am in Riyadh. That's got to throw some of the fighters off their game.

If the Yarde that fought Beterbiev turns up, then I think he could spring the upset. The thing is Yarde has looked pretty dire recently; against Vilcans he possibly could have lost if Vilcans could actually punch, and against Arthur (for the third time?!) he got the job done but looked very pedestrian. It is difficult to know with Yarde whether it is due to genuine decline, or Yarde simply fighting to the (extremely variable) level of his opposition.

Any which way, the hype Benavidez seems to be getting as of late seems bizarre, way out of proportion and unjustified (I often see Benavidez in the top five of peoples P4P lists.) He is unquestionably good, but he isn't infallible and by the evidence of the fights against Gvozdyk and Morrell he seems to fade late; add to that he has only faced one career LHW (Gvozdyk), and at SMW a lot of his marquee wins were against fighters with questionable chins and/or stamina (eg. Dirrell, Plant, and Andrade.)
