It's now official as can be. https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/583767 Gassiev just has to remain healthy for another three or so weeks.
Remaining healthy for three weeks in a row might be easy for some of you keto guys but for the rest of us...
Somewhere Charr is there too with his ridiculously groomed beard, just holding the paperwork to win the WBA title back in the courts
I did not have my glasses on when I posted this, and I thought it was a yellow dude peaking out of a red tent timidly, as if fearfully looking out for Oquendo lurking in the shadows of a camp site. So, admittedly, this makes no sense as an emoticon usage. I have my glasses on now though. ...Anyways...carry on.
I also have great respect for Charr's commitment to facial hair grooming. (He does look a little [possibly] constipated in his Box rec pic tho) https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/314362
LOL!. Look, I still get behind Gassiev. It's a shame that a guy who was 25 years old and a unified champ, with power in either fist and with wins over Lebedev, Wladarczyk and Dorticos, went completely off the rails with losses, injuries and inactivity. The good news is that he is still on 32, and if he beats Pulev, which I actually don't know is a given, but if he does, then he has a real second chance. Guys will be coming to him for a shot at that belt, ridiculous as the belt is. If he wins it and Usyk retires, then he might be "elevated" to one and only WBA champion. I hope he wins it, but like I said, I don't think it is a gimme. Puelv is 44, but his carreer is based on being a big boy with a punishing jab and good chin against anyone not named Klitschko or Joshua. Those skills don't necessarily age badly. So we shall see.
Yeah based on recent eye test it's hardly a gimme. Pulev has clearly declined but he still knows how to consistently grind out those workman-like wins at a decent level. Even at 44 he hasn't been decisively beaten by anyone not named Klitschko or Joshua. If Gassiev isn't 100% into this it could mirror the Wallin fight.
