HATE DEVIN HANEY

is he an annoying to watch spoiler of a fighter? Yes. Coward? Hell no, look at his record, dude’s got balls of steel.

I don’t get why he got another Saudi fight after that last nonsense. Why not highlight a man who shows up to throw down and give fans what they want? Why not have made a good fight for Agit Kabayel? I’m sorry, but if Turki is wanting fighters who put on exciting fights and don’t run, why is Kabayel sitting around dick in hand fighting some nobody in January?

 

I have never understood what Haney did to be the most hated guy in boxing. He’s not that bad.

 

Haney is a prime example of why fighters don't take more risks the guys fought pretty much everyone remotely relevant in his divisions baring tank and teo, who everyone knows aren't exactly easy to make fights with

Yet he gets hate beyond belief he should be celebrated more than the rest for actually taking risks

 

I think coward is pretty fair and I can’t think of what else you would call someone who has sucker punched a civilian at a theme park.
You can be as brave as you want and fight whoever but the moment you behave like that it can’t be undone.
You are either like that or not.

A coward is someone who runs or doesn't fight, though. Haney was getting dropped by Garcia's left hook every 45 seconds, it felt like, and he was getting up and fighting on when 99% of people wouldn't. Definitely scumbag behaviour, but I wouldn't say either of them is a coward. Probably untrustworthy, but I wouldn't say they were cowards. They are two people you'd want with you if trouble started.

 

The last person I would want with me if it kicked off would be someone who would sucker punch someone weaker than them, that to me would almost certainly mean they would run or at least leave you to save them selves, those two traits go hand in hand.

People sure do seem to jump to conclusions that a guy who has never been stopped is likely to be KO’d or something…

If anything, getting ping ponged up and down the canvas by a dynamite puncher like Ryan should make you realize this kid is hard to stop - even when the going gets rough…

Hate that he fights for belts at Lightweight, but comes into the ring bigger than Hagler ever was, and still gets his A$z kicked by a natural featherweight Lomachenko, and still acts like he won.
I suspect tonight he will be at Cruiserweight level

 

Folks in the live thread are so sour that he won. Haney gets more hate than juicers, rapists, etc. It's not cool to have that much hate in your heart.

 

Haney tried to sucker punch a civilian at a carnival, there are reasons to dislike him, but I agree there are definitely worse characters in the sport who seem to get a free pass.
