Haney will always look to clinch after punching if the opponent closes the distance. Its why his fights so often end up so boring.
What sucks is that Haney did not always rely so heavily on this move, but its now his primary line of defense.

I personally didn’t find Haney’s performance boring. I thought he did what he had to do. He could have gotten Norman outta there if he was more aggressive but overall, he did his job.

 

Well, that was actually a fight.

 

Ryan is a banned drug cheat who came in overweight. You damn right he cheated. If the roles were reversed amd Haney did that to garcia he would be run out of boxing. So stop this nonsense ryan cheated to beat Haney.

 

Whats there to figure out exactly? He is good at setting up his jab and he is good at clinching and wrestling.

And if the referee jumps in as fast as was the case tonight then no one has even a chance to work out of the clinch, even if they are better at it than Haney.
I dont think enough people realize how difficult clinch fighting is against someone who is really good at it.
