Fabio Wardley to fight FIlip Hrgovic for the first defence?

Excellent fight For the fans and I think Wardley would want it more and ‘out tough’ Hrgovic in a proper brawl.

 

Excellent fight if it happens. Both will fancy it, as it plays to both their strengths.

Wardley is big and strong and unorthodox, and Hrgovic can struggle with non conventional styles and doesn’t like it when it gets too hot in there.

Hrgovic will fancy it cos he will see weaknesses in Wardleys schooling that he will think he can exploit.

It's a good fight that either guy could win.

 

What a huge disappointment.

Why would you turn down a title shot? Makes zero sense.

 

He said it...he needs to improve. At least he's honest about it.

 

Against one of the least skilled heavyweights in the division? Hrgovic has a solid chance here.

 

I think he has to learn to protect that cut now, which will mean more movement and a better jab. The days of being a one-handed iron man are over, and its good to hear he understands that. The sad part is, if he would have realized that when he started, he might have a belt by now.

 

Hrgovic has already stated that he doesn't want to have many more fights, so I assume he doesn't care about the title anymore, he has his own company that is doing great, he has also made some money from boxing...

 

I'm not being funny though he's 33 years old with good amateur experience it's not like he's some green prospect who's going to improve leaps and bounds.

Wardley is dangerous but beatable I don't see the point of not taking a title shot what else is Hrgovic going to do ?

Is he hoping Usyk retires and he can maybe pick up a belt against an easier opponent ?

Hrgovic has already had 2 decent comeback fights and at 33 years old he should chomping at the bit to get a title shot.

Reckon it would have been an easy win for wardley honestly. I would picture it being Stopped on cuts like the Dubois fight.

 

Well, check out what happened to Hrgovic when he gassed and Adeleye got him with like 20 flush punches in a row. That could be career ending from Wardley.

that’s my best guess. He’s worried his cardio issues are going to lead to a late fight moment like that. Because prior to gassing, he’s going to be using Wardley’s face as a speed bag.
