Yeah, sure, dude's job is to lie to you and you like it. That's kind of just boxing. There's always been money men to lie to you and you like it. What's Turki doing atm? Why was the rumble in the jungle? Do you consider Schmelling a nazi? It's all just money men lying to you in a way you appreciate so you pay for their product. Eddie wants to give you as little as possible while keeping as much as possible for himself. Turki wants the west to view the kingdom less harshly without putting an end to slavery or torture. Same ****, lie, omit the whole truth, etc. to get an audience to support something that is not in their best interest. Don't feel silly or even dirty, everyone know the proletariat's only real problem is the hording of resource by the 1% and yet everyone is convinced by the media owned by that 1% to support policies that are directly against proletariat interest and benefit only 1% of human life. We call it government.
I met him and got a pic with him before too. Even after all his hours of interviews he did, he was still nice and personable enough to take photos. Also, the dude is a giant.
For everyone calling him a salesman.....what exactly do you want him to be??? Hes a promoter. His literal job is selling a fight.
How's bout we look at the revenue of the UFC as a whole and look at the percentage that is given to the gladiators who the fans are paying to see. Yea, he's great for marketing to the public and gives us a product we gravitate to, but given how much $$ is in the UFC through the cards, merchandise, video games, etc.. Running boxing with the same formula, fighters like Haney, or Bivol would not be making the income they have at this point because they weren't the biggest names in the sport, though they are the better talents
Ive always liked Hearn. Relative and within context of the boxing industry, I dont get why hes so disliked tbh.
Dana is as bad as people say. Guy is ripping off his gladiators in a way that even makes boxing promoters blush.
How anyone can be surprised that the company is making more money than the workers is beyond me. Please name one successful company that give more money to the workers than what they keep for themselves? At least Dana (UFC) have always paid fighters what the contract stated.
Theres always someone who condones exploitative behavior as long as its not technically breaking any laws or because the exploited people agreed to get exploited.
Eddies my kind of guy. All promoters are snakey, just find one whos at least got a funny personality and back that one instead, thats what i say. From the passion he shows for his fighters, the way he will sell them at a press conference, the interviews on IFL, hes got a very likeable personality. Eddie is very very good at his job and seems like a fun guy to be around.
Don't be so dramatic to make your point. Makes me feel like you don't really believe your own argument at face value. No where did I say that the fighters need to be getting paid more than the company. But for the fighters to be putting their lives on the line and being the sole reason why that fans get up for the fight and walk away with $2M-$4M from a PPV event that made over $200M off the TV sells alone and most likely somewhere are $14M from the gate, not counting merchandise and such...... they need to be more valued, IMO. Boxers already deal with their own politics to make sure they can maximize their profits per fight vs their promoters. You saying Dana White always paid fighters what the contract stated.....as if every contract was honest and fair.....lol. I recall someone speaking on a $380M settlement to be paid to an abundance of current and former UFC fighters. Doesn't sound like he ALWAYS paid fighters what they deserved.
