The fact that cretins on social media are piping up with the argument that he wouldn't have spent the money without being innocent :)rolleyes:) is the justification. His team have thrown every single dollop in the manure pile at the wall in the hope that enough half wits will believe the story and thus preserve his status. Note they don't need to get them to believe him proved innocent, just inject enough noise to put doubt in their minds.

He spent the money because he knew he’d earn £15m from the two Eubank fights. The alternative was to keep on fighting on Matchroom shows in Mexico and North America for a relative pittance.

One would assume he’s now also paid back the years of investment Matchroom put up with, and now “world title fights” are the profit.

Hard to have any sympathy for someone as unlikeable as Benn and especially when he goes on about driving a £500k car.

That's what I tried to say by 'preserve his status' - he sidestepped the admission of guilt that could've made making those fights tricky and instead screamed loud and long about injustice, mental health, dossiers, whatever to avoid copping to the failed tests. He didn't need to win the argument, just create enough doubt that when they came to the casual crowd with the PPV offering the punters weren't put off by the cheat stuff, or could at least put it to one side. I'd argue that's what the fighting in Mexico was about as well, aside from the need to get him in the ring again, it was about the image of him as someone sanctioned to fight in all these places and thus the implicit unfairness of UK authorities in not allowing him to box here.

Yes, sadly this has all paid off for Hearn et al. They're just going to act like the failed tests never happened and trust they've obscured and reset the 'narrative' with all the shite they've talked.

Hope it gets keyed daily and the wheels fall off.

Failing a test means nothing anymore does it? Until fans vote with their wallets (by not opening them) they'll keep taking stuff.

I've not looked at any British boxing news in over a week, I know what happened but I haven't seen a second of this utter nonsense. Benn has been nothing but a stain on the sport and I'm not having it rammed down my throat. I honestly wouldn't care if it emerged that he'd been battered in the street and left seriously injured. I hated the spoilt kids at school and I hated and later battered the gobby ones. We'll only have a happy ending if his career ends Bellew style, staggering around the ring after being sparked out not knowing what day it is after finally stepping up and facing an elite operator.

So everyone knew Chris was ****ed before the fight, but we should all be proud of him for getting in the ring and ripping off Boxing fans and taking his £10m home with him.

If everyone knew he has a medical issue why was the fight on?

They all wanted there pound of flesh mate too much money on the line for everyone involved.
It was blatantly obvious Eubank wasn't right.

For sure mate. It’s still a kick in the spuds for the fans though.
