Alvarez looks shot. Crawford likely isn't fighting at the weight again.

    Iglesias is good.

M'billi, L Martinez, Silyagin, Munguai, Plantic are decent but not particularly that good.

Rest is very meh. Can't see anyone good coming up either

Sheeraz is a manufactured pampered hypejob, so don't mention him.

The division is weak imo. Average at best. What do you think?

It was at one time early last last year where all top ten super middleweights were undefeated (Alvarez as champion, his top ten contenders) according to the Ring(I think). That tells me there were a lot of guys waiting for a pay day.

It's been that way for years. This is why Canelo's duck of Benavidez was so egregious, he was the only live body in the division.

Both Middle and Super-Middle have been really dragging their feet for nearly a decade.

Mbilli, Martinez, Pacheco, Sheeraz, Charlo, Iglesias and Alimkhuly on the way. That’s not too shabby.

It's alright. I like Osleys Iglesias a lot. I think that kid has a very bright future. Munguia might still turn it out around and is supposed to be fighting Mbilli next, which will be a lot of fun. Lester Martinez is a quality guy and very well-rounded. Pacheco vs Sadjo is a good fight and a real 50/50. Plenty of fun, flawed guys floating around at 168.

    It looks terrible.
Even Canelo dominating there said a lot.
I don't believe he stay up there back in the 'Super Six' days.
I don't think he'd beat Froch, Kessler, Ward and I'm not sure he'd beat Groves, Jack and Degale either. Even Bute I think could outbox him running around.
I'm shocked he beat Callum Smith like that though so you never know. But Smith seemed really flat footed and weak there. And I think Canelo was in his juicing prime at that stage.

I couldn't see Canelo losing to Froch, Kessler, or Groves. He'd have lost to Ward and Calzaghe, but Froch would've been tailor-made for him. Target practice for 12 rounds, Canelo's chin would neutralise Froch's power and Froch would be walking in straight lines at him all night walking onto huge shots.

Yes absolutely, smith's performance was such a headscratcher for me...

That was a weird spell, plant talking to canelo in the ring like he was a fan and wanted to be recognized by his idol. Every opponent of canlo's just being glad they could make the money and being polite and meek...

And btw I would not be so sure about froch. Canelo had a shitty workrate. And froch had a great chin. Plus the size for the division. Canelo is just small for super middle

Get rid of the division, pls.
154 - 168 is just an exaggerated expansion of what was once the greatest division of all time - MW (in terms of entertainment and skill). If we had just 1 division then we'd have more talent mixing it up. Same with CW and bring back a weight limit for HW.

I was thinking the other day, boxing as a whole is like a microcosm of society. It's globalised, it's shady, it's crooked, the global East have come into it, the Arabs have poured their dirty money into it, the regulators don't do their job and are bought out, nearly everyone isn't about legacy + deck stacking to huge degrees (i.e., some morals), belt orgs corrupt to the brink, bought out judges, no effective reconciliation process when cheating discovered, expanded divisions (product) to make extra coin but limit the sport, blah blah. Just a funny analogy to me to look at boxing then look at Western society and see parallels. Maybe it's always been this way. How sad.
