Pity the Haye fight never came to pass. Would have added some perspective one way or another.

Fury didn't give one legit contender a oppounity.. Wlad gave 2 or 3 opportunities a year for over a decade.

Hell, it still could. Haye has teased a comeback a couple of times as late as February, and he would be exactly the kind of fighter (shot) that Fury wants.

Out of interest - if you had to make a call on the original fight who do you think would have come out on top?

Totally agree that Fury exploited the flawed term of lineal champion in order to do his own thing, and not take on the toughest competition.

Fury is/was world class at one thing.....making the most money without facing anyone who wasn't a bum or over the hill.

Not really just would have been Furys coming out of the closet party earlier. Worst case scenario in that fight is haye manages to find a right hand from Fury messing around but he's always get up. Fury had his number 100% of the time. AJ would never get put in front of Haye or even Chisora.

Everyone knows Fury in the zone is a beast. Even this older regressed Fury will put on a show when he toys with AJ next year, that's if Jake Paul doesn't KO AJ first

Tough to say. I guess Fury because he was on the rise and Haye was already going downhill, but its just a hard one to call.

Haye pulled out of the Fury fight the first time in 2013 (cut) then pulled out of the fight once more in 2014 (shoulder) then the fight was never rescheduled, didn’t Boothy later say that Haye had bottled it !

I agree it was the post Klitschko era.

Of all of Wlads losses only Fury didn't knock him out. In addition Wlad had a combined twenty three title defenses over his multiple reigns, Fury had what, three?

Fury is the Al Bundy of boxing, spent his whole life living off the one moment he was worth a crap. Too bad he pissed it away for years after on booze, cocaine and buffets.

That's exactly what I thought would happen AJ vs Dubois, and we saw how that turned out...

The post Fury era with Rico Verhoeven in the game looks a bit like the Fury era to me.
Why didn't Usyk, for example, choose the undefeated Kabayel as a challenger?
