I have to say, Mike Tyson is a very knowledgeable boxing historian in his own right.

I chuckled, Mike, when I read your comment that you haven't been to a fight in 40 years. Crazily enough for a boxing fan, I seldom went to fights. I can recall attending only two big fights in my life: Ali-Folley (at the old Madison Square Garden) and De La Hoya-Chavez 1 (Vegas, Caesar's). Now looking back I wonder why I lived in the San Francisco area for eight years, read the local boxing writers regularly (Jack Fiske, Eddie Muller) but never saw a fight there. I grew up 25 miles from New York City where there were so many opportunities, but never saw any live shows except Doug Jones vs. Billy Daniels plus a handful of closed circuit broadcasts in movie theaters (such as the Lewiston smelleroo and Patterson-Ali). I was a lazy fan who was contented watching on TV.

He's pretty interesting. I'd call him a writer, not a historian. Knowing a good amount of history doesn't make him a historian.

For me, I'd say Teddy Atlas due to his extensive knowledge as both historian and trainer. But I do want to give a shout out to my man Dan Morley. Check out his YT channel and IG. Morley has really good content

I don't know, but someone who deserves a mention (alongside many others) is Henry Hascup. He was something of the quiz king in this forum, and if you google him, you'll see that he has a vast amount of boxing knowledge.

Yes a very decent man and a true historian. His documentaries are great quality. Ive always liked him.

He fairly recently got hold of the previously rare Donald Curry-Emmet Linton fight.

Not to blow sunshine up anyone's arse but @mcvey is pretty damn good. I like to think I know a bit but reading his posts over the past two decades has made me realize I need to up my game.

Except the posts where I disagree with him. Then he doesn't know S.
