I’d also try and keep the headliners all British and Irish. You could do CBS v Jack Massey, maybe Azim vs someone like Sean McComb?

As for commentary, I’d be making a play for Chris Lloyd. I know he did Parker v Wardley for BBC radio the other week so he’s got links to the BBC.

 

I enjoyed it and I think the two fights shown will have appealed to casuals. I do think the BBC missed a trick though, by not doing more on the history of the heavyweight title. They could have shown footage of Cooper, Bugner, Lewis and a few others before the main event.

Each to their own. He does have a very unique style which i appreciate won't appeal to all. Perhaps I enjoyed it as it was such a welcome change to the horrifically bias commentary of Adam Smith.

No. For every sports broadcast there is an international tv feed that is broadcast all over the world and here Chris Lloyd commented together with Dave Coldwell. They were far better than the hopeless Ronald Mcintosh.

 

I think you should take a look at social media. There are loads of complaints about Ronald Mcintosh. Not a good choice by the BBC.

 

I saw an interview with Frank Smith where he stated that Boxxer would soon lose their contract with the BBC and they would have to close down their business

 

Hopefully they get Lloyd on the main broadcast then.

 

The main event was what it was, two massive blokes having a scrap, not exactly high quality but entertaining.

Having Fran Hennessy on as Co Main was a joke, her dancing to the ring to fight a part time boxer i think is a really poor look for womens boxing.

The production of it all felt cheap, and the commentators/pundits didn't work. Hopefully the make some amendments for the next show

Simpson vs Williamson should be decent enough, but I would imagine it will be quite an easy win for Simpson. Only 3 fights on the under card at the moment.

People seem to like him. Comes across quite cocky to me but people probably feel sorry for him because he got flattened by Wardley and the whole rebuild thing. People who like Sky also praised his punditry, although I think it was pretty poor along with the rest of them.
