We are going to have to agree to disagree.

I'd rather Joshua put Paul in his place so we can carry on with the serious fights in the Heavyweight division. And Paul can continue doing his gimmicky fights outside of the serious side of boxing whilst still creating a fan base for casuals.

But ......... that's exactly what he was doing before AJ agreed to sign to a 'real fight' with him.
Literally, up until 2 or 3 weeks ago, that's ALL Jake Paul was doing.

I'm not defending AJ for his actions this is purely for money but I have to say if someone dangled 50 million infront of me I wouldn't turn it down either.

But I think Paul actually believes in his own mind he is a world class boxer so I'd rather Joshua give him a reality check so he knows to stay in his lane.

A former champ losing to youtubing bum is good for boxing? It undermines the supposedly supremely honed skills that top boxers have. It makes the sport look like a joke.

Anthony Joshua won the world amateur silver medal 3 years after first putting on the gloves.
He won the Olympic gold medal 4 1/2 years after first putting on the gloves.
2007-2008 he was just some big kid at 18 or 19 went down the gym to lift weights and someone said come down the boxing gym.
He was still just some big kid selling weed in 2011 when he won the World silver medal.
Even when he beat Wlad Klitschko he was still just a novice professional.
Did this make boxing look like a joke too?? What does it say about boxing when a big muscular kid, who knows **** all about boxing, sells weed on the side, spent time in remand centre, can walk off the street, get to the top of the Olympic and amateur scene in less than 5 years ... then be ranked #1 in the world in pros after less than 4 years as pro??

Even a couple of years ago AJ was crying about not having all the skills, taking up boxing late, struggling because he's heavy, having a break-down in the ring after Usyk beat him second time. Apologising for being a muscle-bound skill-less bum, despite his best efforts, but already a two-time world unified champion. What's that say about boxing?

Fabio Wardley started in his 20s literally had 4 "white collar" boxing matches against office boys, then turned pro. 7-8 years later, despite covid era inactivity, 21 pro fights and he's "world champion" apparently. He just beat a guy who is way more experienced, more highly-ranked and has been boxing since age 6 ........ what does that say about boxing then???

Now, I do think Jake Paul is basically a "bum" level, his record shows it. He's not even a heavyweight. He's a mid-level club-fighter mid-sized cruiser-weight, on paper. But the fact that he started late (age 21) and came from being a "YouTuber" isn't particular relevant. He's had 13 fights and has been boxing 5 1/2 years.

    Joshua will kill him.
But I don't see what's so good about that. It just underlines that Joshua took a mismatch for money. It doesn't prove anything else. Jake Paul is a legit boxer, but not a good one, same as thousands of others you can find on boxrec, and not a heavyweight, that's really all it is.

All I will say on this matter is that I even feel unclean for posting in this thread that I feel unclean for posting in this thread.

    That is all.

Best result would be for the fight to be cancelled.
Failing that, Jake Paul pulls of the greatest upset in history.

I rank anything Paul as below Foreman vs five guys. Not boxing, not worth one’s time.

Rarely has such a fundermentally terrible matchup lead to so much discussion.

Nothing too impressive or meaningful happening right there that I can see. Lol.

Paul needs to concentrate more on very, very sharp head movements, along with some on his toes footwork.

Doesn't really matter anyway, only he's only going to go the one way..

    Horizontal!

Agreed I don’t think Paul thinks he can win but he is still deluded when he posts his training clips because I think he thinks that he looks impressive LOL.

I’ll only believe this ‘fight’ is happening when I see them both in the ring.

That said big muscular kid won the genetic lottery and is a hard worker in the gym.

Says **** all about boxing, says he was very feel for having his ass kicked by Usyk twice, and that Usyk is a generational talent.

That Wardley has god tier genetics when it comes to boxing. He'll forever be the biggest what if in boxing. What if he'd wandered into a boxing gym when he was 12. To be 6'5" with his level of power, speed (for his size, he's pretty damn quick of hand and foot), athleticism, combined with every intangible being basically maxed out from the start, is wild.

Credit to Jake Paul, he absolutely is a legit boxer. Not a very good one, but he absolutely is legit. He'd be competitive in some area level competitions, might be capable of winning some.

But against AJ.... just lol. Like AJ, hate AJ, he's accomplished, experienced, 6'6", apparently 243 right now, and hits like a truck. If Jake Paul lasts to even round 2, he's won.[/quote]

Honestly, I think this fight might be over about as fast as Butterbean–Bart Gunn.

UNLESS Paul is light years ahead of what I’ve noticed, this is a total circus, and a full on stick up by AJ and Eddie.
