    Some bullet points:

Says he was going to defend the WBO belt, but wanted a break. He was definitely interested in fighting Parker, but Wardley won and he's not interested in that fight at the moment. Maybe in the future. Respects Wardley and thinks he's a great guy.

Says he'll continue boxing. Will have a fight next year. Says he wants a fight with Wilder. For him Wilder is one of the biggest names in HW boxing over the past decade and he'd like to put that pelt on the wall.

Says he's spending a lot of time working on his businesses and obligations, but he's getting in some nice stretches of rest, too.

Says he offered to help Anthony because he's a friend. Spent a week or two training with AJ. Has a professional team helping AJ out and sharing all of Usyk's preparation with him. Says the training isn't to make AJ fight like him, but just whatever they can to improve AJ as a fighter.

Definitely helping AJ to get prepared for the fight with Fury. Thinks AJ can beat Fury.

Doesn't have an opinion on the AJ v. Paul fight other than comparing AJ to a Rolls Royce and Paul to an old Fiat.

What, wait, he said he wants to fight Wilder?

I'll have to watch it. He must have said it in jest. He's a great personality, a great sense of humour.

How can you not like "dis guy".

I'm sure many will say Wilder doesn't deserve a title shot but if they fight in the US it could be a bigger money maker than anyone else.

Wilder will always have the ability to land a nuclear bomb with that windmill right hand out of nowhere as long as he’s not in the whole introspective peace and love mindset he was stuck in for the last two fights, I just don’t like that fight. I refuse to believe he isn’t capable of flattening someone for two seconds no matter how finished he looked. I like how Usyk wants to put the only other significant name of the era on his resume nevertheless. Only Wilder and Parker carry any excitement for him I guess, although he should definitely put Ruiz on the list too. Idk what the hell Parker has been up to but he’s out of the picture, Wardley has earned a shot if it comes to that. Done more than those three lately.

A fight with Wilder would be a joke he's 2-4 in his last 6 fights and he hasn't beaten a ranked contender since 2019.

It's also frustrating that Usyk continues this schedule of averaging 1 fight per year and its a trend that has carried on for the past 6 years now.

Don't get me wrong Usyk is the only Heavyweight I like in the modern era because he's not a lumbering giant. He's more of a throwback to the old school Heavyweights who relied more on skill rather than size.

But I am a bit frustrated with Usyk fighting once a year and I would be hugely disappointed if he fought Wilder who's completely shot now and no longer relevant.

Whatever the reasons are he still hasn't been that active and it is frustrating for the viewer when the best Heavyweight in the world hasn't been that active for the past 6 years.

Every boxer has to deal with stuff it didn't stop top Heavyweights in the 70s/80s averaging fights every 3 or 4 months.

And now again we will probably have to wait another year for Usyk's next fight in which his last fight was an easy fight in which he took 0 damage.

Champions should plan to fight at least 3 or 4 times a year, so if they are unlucky, they still get 2 or 3 fights.
It's really not difficult to understand.
They also shouldn't sign "rematch clauses" when they don't have to.
Usyk is open to criticism. But he's just one of many boxers these days who have too few fights. It's become the norm.

If he's serious about fighting Wilder then I guess this plays into the misguided viewpoint and narrative that fighting any American -- including Jared Anderson if he prevails over Frank Sanchez -- will bring much-desired American-style $$.

    Sheer folly.

Boxing fans don't want to see Usyk fight a has-been or a never-was; they want to see him face a legit contender (and potential threat): Wardley or Kabayel.

Is Wilder still dangerous? Mostly to guys who stand still in front of him and give him time to plant his feet and wind up that big overhand right. When was the last time you saw Usyk just stand there...?

But if Usyk retires tomorrow I wouldn't take anything away from him; he's earned all due respect. I just don't want to see him besmirch it by taking on an irrelevant opponent.

If he fights Wilder, I would love for Wilder to land a right hand out of nowhere and knock him out.

Is Usyk fighting wilder right now a worse “keep busy” fight than fury chisora 3?

Although I’m not a fan of champions picking their opponents instead of fighting who’s the next contender I rather see Usyk fight Wilder than rematching AJ or Fury.
Wardley would be the right opponent though because he just scored a big win.
I understand why Kabayel is not in the mix, he’s just not known enough.

Just as I thought him and his team are in the ''oh your...celebrity is not nearly big enough for me to be interested in it'' shallow and arrogant phase.

If he wants to fight the corpse of Wilder who took 7 rounds to knock out some abysmal journeyman who Johnny Fisher would likely iron out in a few rounds then he should drop all the belts and then have the gimmick fight. if boxing had any integrity then he would be stripped if he wants to fight Wilder for an alleged ''big money fight''. (which it doesn't of course) then Wardley Kabayel and the rest who have fought and earned the right to fight at the top of the division for titles can then scrap for all the marbles.
