Usyk vs. Wilder in 2026 closing the era of the 2010–2020s “Big 3” feels similar to Lewis vs. Tyson in 2002 closing out the ’90s era. But which champion had the bigger gap over their diminished rival at the time?

Tyson hadn't lost for 5 years and had some decent wins over the likes of Golota, Botha, Savarese, coming into the Lewis fight.

Wilder is 2-4 in the past 6 years and got dominated and didn't win a single round vs Zhang, Parker.

Tyson was way past his prime but atleast he hadn't lost for years and had ok form coming into Lewis fight.

Wilder looked like crap in his last fight taking 7 rounds to KO a complete nobody and he has a losing record in the past 6 years.

For me Tyson was a better fight than Wilder.

Usyk-Wilder, by a distance. Tyson was still stopping fringe guys before and after and posed a threat early. Wilder is absolutely finished.

I feel the size difference going in oppositie directions makes this comparison difficult. Tyson was 8 inches shorter than Lennox, Wilder is 4 inches taller then Usyk.

Tyson from a pure boxing standpoint was closer to his peak(he was much younger after all) but I feel that doesn't mean he had a better chance of winning. Because even at Tysons peak he had to win early. While Wilders got a whole fight to catch Usyk slipping.

Tyson had a better chance, or at least Manny Steward thought so: "You wanna get caught with some crazy ****!?" He knew that one punch early could put Lewis out; it had happened twice before, and Tyson was tough enough to survive several rounds. The oddsmakers saw it similarly, Lewis wasn't a massive favourite.

You won't be hearing the Ukrainian version of that in Usyk's corner if this mismatch materialises. Usyk can stop this shot to smithereens joke version of Wilder more or less when he wants to.

Usyk Wilder is the far bigger mismatch but if Wilder somehow drops Usyk that just prove Wilder is better than Mike Tyson and would KO Lewis

Propaganda question where you can only vote wilder to be the bigger mismatch.

All these threads now... Either weirdly defending usyk for taking a soft touch or unnecessarily posing weird comparisons to make it look worse...

All black or white mixed in with lots of dishonesty. Let's just say it is a crap fight and he should lose belts.

Deontay Wilder now is more comparable to the Mike Tyson of the Kevin McBride fight ..... or the Mike Tyson of the Jake Paul fight. ....

Usyk at 39 might be around the same quality as a 36 year old Lennox Lewis, yes.
