    PBF: Berto
Pac: Rios, Horn, Broner, Vargas, 147 Matthyse
    Klitschko: Alex Leapai (lol), Pianeta
    Canelo: Berlanga, Scull
GGG: That one random polish guy, Rolls
    Inoue: Doheny, random Korean dude
    Crawford: 90% of his resume
    Chocolatito: 90% of his resume
Loma: Crolla, Commey, Japanese dude forgot his name
    Ward: Paul Smith
    Cotto: Delvin Rodriguez
Ioka: This dude was fighting bum after bum after bum and folks were jizzing over him.
    Estrada: same as Ioka

Is Wilder shot? Sure, does he still have **** you turn your lights out power? Yes. Power is the last to go. There’s always luck involved in boxing and a guy like Wilder will always have a better chance for an upset vs a guy like Khegai would against an Espinoza.

If Usyk never dethroned the 2 top dogs in Fury and Joshua I would be right there whining and crying like little kiwi bitches too. But there isnt even a really intriguing match up besides maybe Itauma which prob isn’t that intriguing in reality but on paper is.

Yildrim was the worst of the lot for Canelo; at least Scull actually had a belt and was undefeated. Paul Smith wasn't bad for Ward; he'd had two fairly competitive fights with Arthur Abraham beforehand, but how overweight he came in was a disgrace, and he should have had to forfeit his entire purse.

Joe Louis Bum of the Month club

    Ali

    Brian London 35-13
    Richard Dunn
    Cooper
    Wepner

The list is endless. How many other greats and world champs fought pretty much the top guys, top contenders or tough fights B2B exclusively even in their primes like Usyk has, let alone in their backyards or on the road and whilst routinely conceding huge physical advantages? How many terrible mismatches and defences against badly outmatched opponents? Usyk is a year away from his 40th birthday and is one of the oldest HW champs ever

Usyk must be the goat if fighting a legend and one punch KO threat is this horrible lol. When he fought Chazz or whatever that dudes name I got the criticism. But Wilder? For Pete’s sake.

Yes, a 'soft touch' for Usyk is a former long reigning world champion/Olympic bronze medalist with a 44-4-1 (43 KOs) record whose reign lasted for 5 years and who is literally the hardest puncher of all time with a KO 97%

I don't like these current threads.

Fans should not make excuses for fighters taking soft touches.

Obviously usyk is close to #1 atg at heavy but still we should criticize such a bad choice of opponent.

Are you a fan of boxing and want to see relevant fights or are you a fanboy of a fighter and only want to see him get praise all the time?

We don't need threads underhandedly normalizing usyk's choice.

And it is true that from a gervonta davis supporter he is glaringly missing from the initial list, while naming doheney for inoue (who looked like double the size of inoue) and the random korean was probably better than more than half of davis' opponents. Same with lomachenko and others...

It has to be possible to be a fan of usyk's and still criticize him for fighting shot to bits wilder. I mean he is probably at #60 heavyweight at this point. Chisora would probably be more exciting...

So wilder IS a soft touch, i would back any top 20 heavyweight comfortably to win against wilder at this point. His resume doesn't constitute him not being a soft touch now.

klitschko has a nice resume too, but would be a soft touch at this point

I will definitely not support this fight with my money. Will watch it on youtube the day after

If Usyk was fighting 3 or 4 times a year, it would perhaps be acceptable.

I guess I need to watch Wilder v Herndon again, see what makes him an accpeptable 'gimme' even, because I'm not seeing it.

Usyk might as well have said "Dillian Whyte" .

Funny reading some of these comments talking about Wilder's record from YEARS AGO (i bet some of you didn't even think much of his 'WBC' reign anyway).

It's many years ago since Wilder looked any sort of threat.
You have to go back to 2019 or 2018.
    Usyk will fight him 2026?
    Anyone see the problem here?

Leapai was a mandatory, lol. Not Wlad's fault he upset Boytsov. Pianeta was a soft touch, but not as soft as washed up Wilder. He was undefeated and in the Top 10 of the sanctioning body (don't remember which). Also - Wlad fought ALL HIS MANDATORIES and defeated every top contender. Never gave up a belt. Never ducked anybody. He also had 18 title defences - it's normal you will have soft touches here and there, as you are allowed to have a voluntary defences after beating the mandatory. Usyk never done that. So not a good example trying to exonerate him from ducking his mandatory and taking a washed up Wilder as a soft touch.
